I was downloading a patch for a game on my PC, as well as running Windows Update (a single Defender update installed). After both completed, I rebooted.
During the Windows 7 splash screen the monitor went blank and never came back on. Now when I reboot I don't see any image on the screen at all...no POST, no nothing...
I've rebooted several times, reseated the DVI cable, etc, to no avail. The PC itself seems to be booting normally. I get the happy POST beep and the Windows chime when it finishes booting, so clearly Windows is up and running behind the scenes. I'm using an HP 2511x monitor and Sapphire 7950 3GB card. I can bring up the monitor setup menus and move around them just fine as well. Could it be a bad cable? If not, what?
Thanks!
