Help! My computer freezes randomly

I got a new motherboard since a bad flash messed up my old X38 Asus board. I got the P5Q turbo pro also from ASUS to replace it, and now every 30 minutes or so my computer freezes for 2 seconds(mouse freezes everything stops) and then resumes. It doesn't crash, just does this random freezing.

My overclocked CPU doesn't seems to be the problem nor is the ram faulty since it passed Memtest86+ 12 times with 0 errors. I ran OCCT for 5 hours without an error too, as well as set all the other settings on auto to see if it was because of inadequate volts. Also ran diskscan from Window Tools on the hard drives and came up with nothing.

My old motherboard never had this problem...

Anyone know what to do?

Possibly video drivers. Try an older version to see if it helps.

What apps are you running when the computer freezes?

Also, it might have nothing to do with hardware -- some process or service may simply be momentarily tying up your PC. Run task manager in the background for a little more than 30 minutes to capture the event. Immediately after the freeze, check the CPU utilization graphs for a spike and try to isolate the problem process, if any. Check your windows system logs in event viewer.

bigsnyder: I already tried it was using the lastest Cat 9.7 and went back to an older version still the same thing.

deimos3428: I will try that but when it freezes, nothing crashes ever it just freezes completely(mouse, keyboard etc) then resume as though nothing happened so I don't think it'll show up on the event viewer.

Thanks for the suggestions It's starting to act up every hour or so now... Man I don't get this thing might be iTunes...

did you do a fresh OS install when you swapped motherboards?
