I need some help diagnosing a problem with my computer. It freezes or locks up on me when it has been on for a couple of hours. I have the AMI Desktop Client Manager installed. It says my CPU fan status is 0 rpm and that there is a voltage warning on my board. Neither of these things is factual. I have 3 fans inside the box and they are all running. I had the voltage checked, and it is right on the money.
The person who checked it thinks it might be my motherboard or possibly my CPU, but he said that there was no way to check it out. That I would just have to replace them both in hopes of fixing the problem. I don't like that solution, and I can't afford it.
I don't know exactly which of this info will help but here goes. I have a PC100 - M598 main board, 333 mz, AMD K6(R)-2 processor, AMI BIOS, 6.4 gig but only using 2.3 of them. Is this enough info?
