Help: PC randomly reboots

Hi this is my first time at the forums. I heard the best help can be found here.
My system (WinXP, Athlon XP 1700+, 768 generic sdram, maxtor ultra133 card, matrox g400max, IWILL KK266 plus mobo, lucent quadrabus USB card) randomly reboots itself. This usually occurs when I'm running photoshop or playing DIVX movie. I thought it was my power supply at first so I replaced it with an Antec True power 330W. The frequency of the reboots have dropped but they still randomly occur. Anyone have an idea whats going on or how to test it?
I ran CPU burn overnight, and no crash.
Do you think its a memory problem?
Motherboard problem?
When it reboots, it gives no warning or error message...just reboots.

U r right probably it's your motherboard problem ,Ram or your CPU is getting too heated,just checkout , it can also be a problem with installation ? .Hope it's not a Virus problem.

thaneboy is right its is a computer component that is broken

but my best choice would be the ram, so try replacing the ram should solve te problem.

if u have two sticks of ram just take one out and try it.

Go to Control Panel,system Icon and from there select "advanced" tab then "startup and recovery" settings button ,in there make sure they are all ticked except "automatically restart",next time you have a crash you should get some info that should help you track the problem.


Memtest86 is good for memory checks.

The first thing to do is check your CPU core temp under FULL LOAD. I like using SETI@Home for putting 100% load on the CPU. After 10 minutes, check your CPU core temp while SETI is running.
