Help Please---Problem with Directx

I wanna install several games or video software, such as powerdvd6 or need for speed underground2....,but it tells me that i dont have directx9 installed on the computer....

However, i'm sure that i have directx9 becuase my windows xp is newly installed and I also did a dxdiag check...and it shows up as directx version 9.
my video hardware is 6600GT, so no problem with that.

HELP, I DONNO WHAT THE PROBLEM IS

Plus, I download the directx_9credist, and I tried to installed it, and it told me that components are ready to used....but same problem still occur.....

Windows XP ships with DX 8.1, not 9.x. Are you sure you're running version 9? Also most games have an option to install DirectX anyway so try doing that.
