Dear Rodney Louden,
On behalf of the entire SETI@home team, I would like to thank you for your generous donation of $25.00 to the SETI@home project. This is an exciting time for SETI@home, as we embark on several new ventures in our search for extraterrestrial intelligence, a pursuit that author and futurist Arthur C. Clarke has called "the most important quest of our time."
We first released SETI@home to the public on May 17th, 1999. In the seven years since the project started, we have constantly strived to improve the way we analyze the data we collect with the Arecibo Radio Telescope. We recently turned off SETI@home Classic, and our direct involvement with the Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing (BOINC) has ensured that SETI@home remains at the forefront of the distributed computing industry.
We believe the best is yet to come. A new version of SETI@home called SETI@home Enhanced is about to be released. This new version improves our sensitivity to extraterrestrial radio signals by a factor of at least 30. Moreover, a second-generation SETI@home data recorder will be installed on the Arecibo Radio Telescope in the spring of 2006. This data recorder will allow us to perform SETI searches at seven points on the sky at once, using a powerful multi-beam receiver.
You can read more about these projects and other exciting developments on our website:

Best Regards,
Dan Werthimer
