Hi folks, got a question. Just upgraded to this mainboard from my old slot1
P3V2X. Everything seems to have taken without a hitch. Just a couple of
questions for the wise. First to fill you in I am running a P3 1ghz with
one DIMM of 256 PC-133 ram in slot one. I am running WindowsME operating
system. If you need anymore info please just ask.
1. When I set the memory clock speed to 133 it says I should use CAS3, is
there any harm in using CAS2 and should RAS-to-CAS and RAS precharge time be
the same setting as CAS?
2. SDRAM Cycle time tras/trc. I have an option of 5/7 or 7/9 which is the
optimal setting for the proper CAS?
3. I don't know if all my hardware supports ACPI and I couldn't find a way
to disable it in the BIOS, any ideas?
4. and this may be related to the above question. My computer hangs on
restart. It shuts down fine but if hardware/software wizard or myself, from
start menu, has to restart the system it just hangs. The monitor doesn't
flicker or get restarted it just sits there with a black screen and does
nothing so I have to hard boot it with the reset button. Is there something
that I am missing in the BIOS that would help with this matter?
I think that's all for now. Sorry for the lengthy post its just some
questions that are unanswered by the manual and I thought that this must be
the place where the top minds hang out. Thanks in advance for all the help.
