A friend of mine asked me to set up a computer for her. This is her first PC, and she doesn't want to cast a fortune on it. So I grabbed a biostar M7VKD MOBO and an Athlon 900 (200FSB) processor from newegg.
I hooked up the FDD, HDD, CDROM, Video Adapter, processor, and memory as usual. However, when I pushed the power button, there was no signal on the monitor, and no beep emitted actually, the fans worked well though. I removed the HDD, CDROM, same thing; and switched memory on different memory slots, same thing; changed memory, tried AGP or PCI video cards, still unsuccessful. I noticed that some jump was needed, and I think I made it correctly. I made all the changes that I can think of (thanks to my wonderful KT7A-Raid), so I start suspecting that the board itself is bad, but the board was discontinued on newegg.
Please give me some help. Any suggestions are highly appreciated.
