Help with updating a shortcut

Is there a way to make a shortcut to a file in Windows dynamically update on it's own every day.

Example: Today the shortcut points to a file called "Log Feb 11" and tommorow the same shortcut will point to a file called "Log Feb 12." Does this need some type of windows script that executes each time I log on?
