Help with Windows 98 SE

I'm working on a friends machine and it's running Windows 98 SE. I have installed spybot, McAfee and Trojan Hunter and have cleaned the box. It was a real mess.

I guess my main question is what patches/critical updates do I need to download and burn to CD as it has no network card in it and I don't want to mess with putting on in it.

One strange problem it does have is when I single click on things (icon's files in explorer, etc) it launches the app. Any idea how to get it back to double click??

For the single click issue, open the Start menu, pick Settings and then Folder Options. Click in the Custom radio button, and hit the Settings button. You'll see options for using single click or double click, along with sub-options for the single click mode.

you can order a security cd from MS for free.
has all the security patiches up till october 2003 for win98/ME/win2k & xp. the only downside is it'll take about 2 weeks to arrive.
