i just put my new comp together and when i press the power button the fans spin for about a second then turn off... i reseated everything and it is still doing this can someone help me?

You've got all the stand-offs aligned properly so that it's not shorting out?

Install only the minimum parts. PSU, M/B, 1 stick ram, H/d and video card. See if it will post then. Leave all other stuff out.

i took it out of the case after a few tries and it laying on a cardboard box

k i got it to all turn on, now when i turn it on nothing comes up on the monitor anybody know whats wrong?

Are there any beeps? Are you sure the video is seated properly and the monitor is firmly plug in?

Yes, double check the video card, often, the card faceplate goes down past the board when it's out on a table and even though it appears seated ptoperly, it isn't and has to hang off the edge of the table.

Specs would help I'll take a first guess though: reversed-heatsink syndrome? And my next guess is no-RPM-on-the-CPU-FAN-header syndrome

Yes, like my sig. CPU type, M/B type, RAM type and # of etc. etc...

hey maybe he got it working. im not being a jerk but if the PC he's using is having these problems, i dont think he'd be able to get on the net and post.
