Hercules Fortissimo II skipping

I just put in a Hercules Fortissimo II sound card today, and it's skipping when playing MP3s. When my computer has to "think" a little, the MP3s will skip and stutter. The SoundBlaster Live it's replacing never did that. I'm using the newest Hercules drivers. Anyone know how to make them play solid?

Have you tried downloading the latest drivers from Hercules?

I have the same card and haven't noticed any problems. What about DirectX? Could be some problems there perhaps? Try running dxdiag and see if it causes any errors.
