yep, what with being bias, as Steeplerot said, simply because he believes in the 10 commandments.Originally posted by: SuperTool

I would have walked out without saying a word if I saw that. Judges are supposed to uphold the laws of the land, not the laws of their religion!

I wonder if this judge would object to another judge wearing a robe inscribed with Planned Parenthood's mission statement, specifically the clause on Abortion?

I thought the first ammendment didn't apply to things like clothing while at work. Certainly your employer can have a dress code.

His employer is the Consitution - and sorry nowhere is that document does it say anything about 'seperation of church and state'.
Not that I am really religious or I personally agree with this. But the man can make an argument. I would rather see this than some of the crap the sixth district pulls - like not letting teachers use the Constitution as a teaching tool because it mentions god and therefore is religious, not civic or historic.

ABSOLOUTELY i would! it's nto a question abotu right-wing or left-wing
he is crossing some very dangerous waters, i don't mind if he has a cross on a necklace that he keeps in his shirt while judicating, but he can't have the commandments on his robe during a trial. he could even wear it under his robes, but he still has to maintain the law of the land, and not his personal beliefs
