BTW, if you join s2games facebook fan page, they often have key give aways... I remember they were giving away keys once they hit 10,000 and 15,000 fans, adn that was a while ago.

BTW, I'm a DOTA fan and pretty much only play THR games (throneit.com), a free, public semi competitive dual-realm league with detailed stats tracking. While HoN looks great, I'm not a great fan of the changes mostly because I'm very resistant to change, not because the game is bad.

I don't imagine that DoTA support will continue for much longer. With HoN and LoL both coming out I assume that Icefrog will be giving up on the WC3 engine fairly soon. S2 thus far has been quite efficient at bringing over the DoTA heroes with some new twists added.

I preordered HoN as soon as the option was available. The fact that the game is built on its own engine gives it a lot more options for the developers (like Luna not losing her auto attack with orbs) that simply can't be bypassed with the WC3 engine. The only problem I have with the game is the voices of the models, they aren't even a fraction of as amusing as they were in WC3.

played a lil HoN and i find the heroes to be a little similar looking to each other, to the point where i can't tell between ally and foe (except for the ones that are obvious because they're bigger than the rest).
i guess it's because i don't know the heroes well enough yet since i'm so used to dota.

i also don't like the hotkeys. 'Q' is a bit hard to reach. is there a way to customize this?

the only advantage this game has over dota is keeping the leavers, hackers, etc. accountable by recording disconnects and limiting each person to one account.
sure, graphically the game is a vast improvement, but dota isn't about eye candy. it's more about gameplay and balance of heroes, items and their synergies.

In the options you can remap any of the hotkeys.

There is a button in the top corner of the minimap that changes the color scheme to green/red for ally/enemy.

Thanks Sthazn. I just played my first game, super fun, just like Dota. Once I frigging get the the names all straight it will be better haha, they changed them all to mess with my head. Make it harder for us Dota transfers.

just started playing last night, miss lack of sniper and the spider chick (forget her name) I know those aren't popular hero's but I liked em, spider chick made a really nice support seiger.

I really wish they would hurry up and add in Spectre, that was one of my top favorite DOTA characters. I am also really disappointed that the tree sight ability doesn't spot invis characters like it does in DOTA (in DOTA whenever someone picked an invis character I would pick tree to counter them, same goes for techies).

forest nypmth she had spider spawns, and then call of the wild, and one other I can't remember, and her ult was the regen aura. basically just a good pusher/support seiger. kinda like wildbeast is, but wildbeast is more like Manny

Wow HoN seems to be filled with either elitists or complete noob idiots. Half the time I have teammates / enemies that are last hitting, denying, sneaking in group attacks and performing like a league level DOTA player, the other half the time you have people that don't even know how to click the thumbs up to give up. I played a game last night where some noob kept feeding the enemy, ending score 0-18 with 2 assists. Half the time he just wandered out on his own, would try and attack a group of enemies solo, farmed half the game while the rest of the team got involved with team battles, etc.. The whole team was yelling at him but the only thing he typed through the whole game was "sorry I am new at this game" at the very end.

I don't mind new players, but he should have at least listened to the team and he would have avoided most of his deaths.

There's a practice mode that you can choose when creating a server, which lets you control how much money you have and exp and such. If there was a way to have AI heroes too it would have made good practice for new players.
