hibernation issues

When I put my box into hibernation, I can come out of it using the power button and my mouse works fine but the keyboard is dead

usb optical mouse
MS wireless natural multimedia keyboard (connected via a switch)

something to do with the wireless aspect of it is my guess. on clue on how you can solve it.
