"Hidden" Hard Drive after XP Install?

Ok, so I have a Western Digital 80GB as my main drive (split in to 25GB and 55GB partitions) and a Maxtor 60GB as my secondary drive. I just installed XP (been using 2k for years) and it is happy with my main drive, but it will not allow me to assign a drive letter to the secondary (maxtor drive). Currently it contains all of my music and documents, I really don't want to format it. Using MaxBlaster3 software I can see that the drive is installed, but under it's information (in MB3) it is shown as "hidden." In Storage Manager I am given no options other than "Help" and "Delete Partition." Anybody have an idea? All help is greatly appreciated!

Does the drive show up in Device Manager? Have you gone to Disk Management and tried to import the drive?

yeah, diskmgmt.msc cant see hidden partitions
devmgmt.msc might show it, but the only way to change it to "not" hidden that i know of, is to boot with Power Quest Drive Image and go to Tools > Hidden/Unhidden Drives

there you can changes its hidden flag to "unhidden"

takes all of 2 seconds.

Thanks for the help guys. After exhausting all that I knew I just went ahead and reverted to Win2k which saw the drive fine...
