high pings with linksys router

i have had a linksys router for a few months now. I just got into ganes like tribes 2 and counterstrike. with dsl before my router, my pings used to be under 100 or a little above while in the game. now when i check in cs or tribes 2, my ping is often 400-1100, what is the deal with that??? anyway to fix it???? I have dhcp turned off, so the computer I am using is assigned the ip 192.168.1.4. anyone know how to improve my ping?

Have you checked to see if you are running the newest firmware? Also, you know that DSL has high latency. Your CLEC/ISP has probably subscribed some new users to the COLO that you all share. That can be increasing your PING times.
