High Pitch Sound

My Turbo Cool 510 Deluxe crapped out on me recently and I purchased a Ultra X2 550W modular PSU. Now when my PC is under load a high pitch noise is coming out from my rig. It appears to be either coming from the area around the CPU. Is my motherboard or CPU possibly damaged from the PSU crapping out? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Yes it boots up fine. According to the Asus Probe the rails are stable and CPU temps are in the mid 40's under load. It is just the high pitch sound emitting that is unbearable. I have checked all the fans and other components and the only 2 left is either the CPU or Mobo, unless I am missing something.

There have been a few posts about a high pitch noise coming from the PC.
Most people say it's either a capacitor or some part of the electrical system of the PSU or motherboard. Mine really starts up when I load a game, it's normally fine before that. I was thinking it was my video card.

Yes the high pitch noise usually begins once my CPU is put under load, like gaming. After doing some reading I have read on Ultra's forum that several owner of my new PSU have suffered the same problem. I will try to RMA this PSU as well as my TC510 and see if that solves the issue. The noise is like secada screaming and I can't bear to listen to it. This sucks because I just got Hitman Blood Money and I can't play it...

Sorry the noise is so loud.

I mean... it's harmless, but if it's just the right frequency it CAN drive you up the wall.

Yeah it is unbearable. At least it is good to know that it is harmless. Now I just have to wait for one my RMA PSU's to return...
