What does that due to your memory speeds? there is a major factor to consider....

I can't find many combinations that keep core speed and memory speed the same....So yoiu are not going to get apples and apples...

IMO, I would go with lower fsb (more stable less issues) and use memory dividers to keep the speed high...

9x400 w/ 2.5x memory multiplier for 1000ddr2.... while 500 can get 1000ddr2 you are 100mhz slower cpu and most boards wont due 500 reliably...the 8x450 is same 3600mhz but you like;y cannot get better then 900ddr2...so all of them ar impossible to determine the results of bus speed...

definitely 9x400...it has highest clock speed and highest memory speed...

400x9 because the chipset's internal latencies are usually loosened up tremendously after that. It all depends on your mobo however.

Well yeah, but what if you disregard the mem speed. If got it right on the 680i you can run the memory unlinked with the FSB so you can have ddr2-1000 with the 450 FSB too, right?

Well I dont know what the ratios are in the 680i...

On my board 965p I have

2.0x
2.5x
2.66x
3.0x
3.33x
4.0x

so 450 on my board can be

2.0x=900
2.5x=1125 (way too high)

400 can be like I pointed out

2.0x = 800
2.5x = 1000
2.66x = 1066

So it really depends on the ratio but I dont think you can get 1000 off of a 450 unless 680i mobos can just lock a speed no matter the fsb...again I am not familiar with that board to say that...

I think someone did some testing and at these high fsb's it showed they really didn't make a difference and IMHO not worth the stress the board and the NB chipset takes to run those fsb speeds...
