So, this thread is about voter ID now? LOL! When are you guys, if ever, going to cease falling for this shit?

The left should be ecstatic to have Hillary as their candidate. For all the wrong reasons of course but that doesn't much matter to them. But they're obviously not ecstatic so they've changed the course of the conversation. Don't let them wriggle away from the Hillary candidacy and into their comfort zone. We've got another 18 or 19 months of this shit ahead of us. Let's keep this discussion focused.

She's running, so what are her accomplishments?

I'll start. :hmm::hmm:
Yes, let's not focus on the blatant hypocrisy of your friends on the right.

Yes, very libertarian of you. You must obtain documentation just to cast a vote that is statistically insignificant in order to prevent the bogeyman from voting.

You have to have the same documentation to get a drivers license but I don't see people crying about that.

But don't you worry Dank, rather than piss and moan about something that won't be changed, come July we'll begin the push to get people their voters birth certificate/ID and registered to vote or their voter by mail registration done. Then come October when early voting begin we'll start carrying people to the voting polls. Believe it or not older people like to vote even in off year elections when it just mostly local areas of interest.

It's interesting how he views the son of an enormously powerful businessman, governor, former presidential frontrunner, and member of Nixon's cabinet as not the same sort of 'ruling class' as the wife of a former president who both worked their way up from nothing. I guess bootstraps are only good to pull yourself up by if they are tied to the right party.

Never knew that pulling yourself up by the boot straps meant insider trading.

So license to drive is a right? Why would you make that comparison?

If you're truly interested in voter disenfranchisement and hypocrisy, perhaps you should take a good look at the 2000 election where Democrats unsuccessfully attempted to disenfranchise hundreds of military votes in Florida.

Compared to the successful disenfranchisement of tens of thousands of voters.

In Florida.

Yes, let's take a look at it.

"Ignorant people should lose right to vote" = outrage
"Lazy people should lose right to vote" = justified

How do you reconcile these two positions? Morally they are the same. SCOTUS ruled that the second is legal. So what? Are you of the opinion that the SCOTUS is infallible? Never disagreed with one of their rulings on moral grounds?

Well if it's so obvious than someone must have the relevant sections from the printed book version available online. You've made a very specific allegation, so back it up. If you can't, just say as much.

The whole "I swear this thing about a politician I hate is true so just trust me" thing doesn't fly.
This was twelve years ago. If you wish to debate it now, you can do the homework. Personally it was clear to me at the time, but I'm not wasting my time reproving it to others who will deny it ever happened until re-proven and then declare it's a good thing. Otherwise, well, there are plenty of other reasons not to vote for Hillary ever. You didn't take issue with me pointing out that she filed the paperwork certifying her tennis partner as destitute for that she could get $300,000 in free money from taxpayers, so I'm assuming you're in favor of that, but surely there's something this woman has done that you would find a deal breaker were she a Republican.

We were actually discussing political dynasties. You guys gotta warn me when you've switched to "hate the rich".*

* Except of course the "right" rich - those with the magic 'D'.

I got to hand it to you righties, you never let a bullshit talking point die!

Quick question for you; in previous elections in Florida were military votes treated differently than what the dems did?

Well, I also had to provide my birth certificate to get a passport. As we as prove I was a citizen to get my son his citizen born abroad birth certificate and get immigrant Visa's for my wife and step daughter. Just imagine having to prove you're a US citizen to exercise your rights as one.

Ignorant and lazy people who provide whatever is required where they live as well as being registered to vote should be able to vote. If either are too lazy to get a voter ID or one of the other recognized IDs and register to vote so be it.

All that matters is that the SCOTUS's decision is the law of the land so deal with it.

You might want to see the post where mr music box was bragging about his salary and how life is so easy for him before you post.

You know I make more then 70k a year and I have found I live perfectly well on 1k a week. Everything else goes into savings or roth ira or for very large purchases (condo in los angeles isnt cheap). I challenge everyone who makes more then this to trim your bills down and live on 1k a week. That's probably 70k after taxes.

Thats what Im saying. I feel like I give up nothing at 1k a week. Its the perfect balance between frugal and irresponsible. I think its time you gave yourself a raise

Quick question for you; in previous elections in Florida were military votes treated differently than what the dems did?
In theory, military votes were treated differently in every Florida federal election since at least the Soldier Voting Act of 1942. At the very least, military votes were treated differently in every Florida federal election since the Federal Government's Justice Department sued Florida for violating the Overseas Citizens Voting Act. At that point, Florida adopted a Consent Decree (later codified as Florida Administrative Code 1S-2.013) bringing Florida into compliance with federal law, both the 1942 Act and the 1975 Act. This was also addressed in the Uniformed and Overseas Absentee Citizens Act of 1986, which did not change Florida's Consent Decree but did bring the two earlier Acts into agreement. But for twenty tears, Florida managed to remain in compliance with federal law. It was not until 2000 that Democrats sent an army of lawyers into Florida to remove voting rights from military personnel, recognizing that almost forty years of demonization had succeeded in shifting the military vote from Democrat to Republican.

Here is a link of the issue's history; it is at least theoretically possibly that enough people could be assembled to explain it to you (especially given the ability of the Internet to link together more people than be fitted into any one location.) https://www.overseasvotefoundation.org/files/History of Mil Voting and Ballot Transit issues.pdf
