86% on RT, usually even if i dont agree with the reviews i can see what the reviewers are getting at. this one...well, it sucks.
bad sex scenes, bad gore and aragorn as joey or tom.

I thought it was great, I really love Cronenberg's work, but he's somewhat of an acquired taste.

I thought it was a good movie. I hate cookie cutter type movies... so anything remotely different scores points right away.

I really enjoyed the ending.

Edit: I should point out that David Lynch is my hero. Cronenberg is close behind...

was pretentious garbage. the critics talked about it as if it had a point to make about violence, and that its violence was realistic. thats all bs. it was laughably unrealistic and cliche filled. a lot of blabbing just to hide the very thin plot. joey is an incomplete character, its just very lazy. never mind the absurd scenes with the kid and bully, some people in hollywood are really out of touch...

mostly critics got out their knee pads because it was a cronenburg film. this film was the very definition of an overrated movie.

and seriously, what teenager talks like woody allen? wtf was with that.

I didn't like it at all. Bored bored bored. I agree with Oroo Oroo - not enough there to make a feature-length movie.

Good movie IMO.

Never listen to what others have to say about a movie. We are all different, we all like different things. What's funny or exciting to one person might just be boring to the next.

I remember I saw the Last Samurai because everybody said it was a great movie. I hated it. Tom Cruise dies like 10 times in that movie (sort of) and ends up alive in the end. Even the horses got killed with the machine guns, but not Tom!

Anyway, lately, I only watch drama and romantic comedies which have become my favorite!

the last samuri is quite different, it was a fun summer blockbuster whereas history of violence was portrayed as a "deep" movie that somehow delt with seroius issues in a profound way by many commentators/critics/and the director himself in interviews and such.

As I always say when people give me a line like this, if my time and money were infinite, I would watch every movie. But they are not. And as such, I depend on reviews and opinions of others to help ensure that I watch the good ones and not the bad ones.

Another way to think of it is that movies cost you the same amount of money regardless of how good they are. They also more or less take up the same amount of your time. To me, its STUPID to not try to get as good of a movie as you can since they have the same "cost".

My point is that a person should only watch whatever is appealing to them, action, comedy, drama, without listening to others morons who might be into something else, such as anime, or foreign films.

For example, the upcoming film The transformers, is somewhat childish and the wife couldn't care less about it, but I will see it because it brings back great memories....and I will drag her along.....
