HL2 offline steam

I just found out you dont, once you have steam running, any updates downloaded, you just close steam, DONT LOG OUT , just close it, disconnect your computer from the phone line (unplug the cable to computer)
restart steam, you should then have a, start in "OFFLINE MODE" button.
I did it, it works fine.

I posted this elsewhere, but i thought here may be better

Yeah, there's so many people trying it that the entire world logged in at 8AM to play HL2 and crashed the IntArw3b. :roll:

Old news huh? if you say so.. If it is, then mind telling me why people all over are bitching about having to play online? And even if it is, it wasnt to me, i didnt see any posts about this in a page full of HL2 posts, so i posted it, you dont like it, ignore it !

and as for that statement, if no one is , why were there 11 views in a couple minutes? hmmmmm?

EDIT, i forgot to add, yeah maybe 3 years here, but off and on, now and then, i dont live here so maybe i dont see every post made about a subject. I offered a fix for a simple game, you you know about it already, dont click the damn post
