The fact of the matter is really simple here. He is 16, she is his mother. There is really nothing he could have done to deserve being ABUSED the way she is abusing him, and there is no doubt about the fact that what was going on there was child abuse.

Provoked or no, his mother was wrong. I am sure he was acting for the camera, however the with her calling him a c0cksuker ect, it is child abuse.

EDIT: Also at 16, even if the kid is a deusch, you really have to blame that on the parents...

Some single mothers are like that. They flip out from the responsibilities of being the sole parent and view the situation as their children owing them for everything. I went through some of those situations with my own mother. My parents split when I was 12 and the divorce unhinged her a bit. The next four years had several episodes like the one in the film, though not quite as extreme. I was working in a bar at 14 and was helping my mother pay the rent. When I spent my own earned money on myself, she did her best to make me feel guilty about it. I moved off to college ASAP and now I live 2000 miles from my family. She's much calmer now and has apologized for "how things were". She's remarried now... which I suspect has gone a long way to calming her. No, we never lived in a trailer park.

Does he kick in when needed?

i don't think the kids acting calm just for the video

i mean, if he normally yells and goes ballistic just like her, then she would have been reacting differently to his comments

there's probably more to the story, but bad parenting like that is why kids do drugs and shoot people (** i'm not saying that drug use and shooting people go hand in hand)

I used to piss my mom off like that. She never screamed like that or insulted me, but I could get her pretty hot under the collar.

In fact I'd bet of the easiest ways to infuriate someone to that extreme is to work on em a bit and then do a 180 and appear all calm and collected as our 16 year old appeared, with his camera prepped, hidden, and recording...

The kid is a dick. The "Ask me nicely" crap is what gives it away. If I had ever said anything like that to my mom I would have expected to be slapped. The mom clearly overreacts, but the kid is trying to egg her on. Both suck as far as I care.

I guess maybe the reason I've stopped posting so much as of late is because I get tired of coming into threads like these where people always try to sound like hardasses and say how they would've handled the situation so much differently and how their opinion is right and so on.
