Wow, I can't believe people are attacking the kid here. Hes spoiled? Sounds like he has a job and is earning his own money, looking to move out when he has enough money. Parents are supporting him? From what I heard, sounds like hes 16 years old. At that age, it's a parents LEGAL RESPONSIBILITY, not benefit their giving their child. Yes, his comments are done to antognize the mom, which makes the situation worse, but sadly thats how he has learned to deal with the verbal abuse. How else can you in a sense, fight back? I'm sure the kid has its fault, which seems to have stemmed from his piss ass parents.

My mom gets that crazy sometimes.. well not really.
But she just screams at the top of her lungs like in the video for one phrase..
I can't imagine anyone doing it for 8+ minutes.. your throat would be all tore up.

how can anyone say anything about that kid, while hearing the mom talk like that. there is NO circumstances EVER that would justify her talking like that, I don't care if he just slapped her. she needs to be put in a padded room somewhere.

Something tells me, while the mother does react overboard, the kid isn't blameless here.

The kid at first keeps telling her, "ask nicely, ask nicely." She responds that she already came in 10 minutes ago and asked nice and isn't going to ask nicely anymore cause he keeps playing head games.

Basically, I think the kid knows the mother has a short temper and knows what buttons to press. I know EXACTLY the buttons to press on any family member to get them riled up. There is a saying, we can hurt most the ones we love. Why? We know what sets them off. This kid is obviously provoking and antagonizing his mother. He's trying to play a control issue out with her and is using the tape as "proof" later on when he spouts of the child services crap.

She also threatens to send the kid to live with his Father, which he doesn't take to kindly to as a response by saying, "Now I'm not going to help you anymore." And proceeds to cuss her out and accuse her of not being nice as a reason.

Bottom line, the whole family needs to seek counciling to resolve issues if they are resolvable. The 16 year old is basically pushing the boundaries of control issue with his parents, what 16 year old doesn't tho, and his mother is fed up. He just happened to catch one time slice of a situation that has probably been going on for years.

The kid doesn't seem to be suffering for over abuse or neglect as, from the body parts I could see that passed in front of the camera, he did have his shirt off, there wasn't any visible markings or scarrings from trauma that way. He lives in a house, has his OWN electronics and dvds, tv, and chances are a ton more crap then I've ever had. He has money, a car, and may have been a bit spoiled in the past. That is just conjecture on my part about the spoiled but it would explain his reasoning for making this video with his mother cussing him out.

Now the mother isn't miss perfect mother either. She has made plenty of mistakes it seems and now has no idea how to solve her relationship with her son and chances are, there may not be an immediate solution until the kid moves out on his own and time passes. Even then, that's no garauntee but it sure does change perceptions for both parents and kids once they leave the house.

Hell, living in my parents house I've loaned them $20, $30, $50, $100. There are times when people don't have cash on them at that moment and it'd just be easier to let them borrow the cash for whatever reason. I really don't see what the big deal is about loaning your mom or dad a few bucks.

I've also loaned them my car (which I paid for, and also, which I pay the insurance on) when they needed it (car was in the shop, whatever).

The son is a manipulative, disrespectful little creep. The mother has serious anger management issues.

Its kinda weird when they support you and you loan them some money

How so? If my mom/dad is running late for work and they need $10, $20 for some odd reason, what's the big deal?

Or if they need me to sign my brother up for something, or to pay a bill for them, and they'll pay me back later on that night, or the next day, how is it odd?

I could see it being odd if I had to loan my parents a couple of hundred or a thousand dollars, but if they need a few bucks for a day or two, or until they can get to an ATM, what's the big deal?

... The kid deliberately fvcks with his mom and then try to be the moral authority when the male comes in. We know NOTHING about the situation, but I would bet money he doesnt pay a dime in rent on that place.

Couldn't have said it better....

No sh1t, he's 16, why should he pay rent?

Why shouldn't he help with the rent? What's the real situation? If he's working and not helping around the house...I'd make him pay rent.

They sounded Canadian to me, but it doesn't really matter. The mother surely flipped out and went psycho, but we don't know enough about the family's history to really make solid judgements either way.

She really really went over the top. I have no idea what her living situation is on a daily basis, but she is on a very short rope and needs help.

Whew!

That kid... he needed NOT to set her up. He needed not to push her buttons. He needed NOT to answer her back.

Oh and nice room he has. He has a room like that and let's his mom struggle and beg for $50.00?

You know, the kid could have been a complete douche before he started taping it, and I'd still side with him. No matter WHAT happened before hand, the mother's reaction was inexcusable. I have done some things in my time to really piss off my mother. Lets face it, we all probably have because we dont live in "Pleasantville" era. Anyways, a RESPONSIBLE parent knows that it's really about control. You do not gain control of situations by calling your son every name in the book.

The kid shouldnt have to pay rent, even if he is working full time. He is a minor still. He will be a minor for 2 more years. If once he turns 18 the parents want to charge him rent, fine. It's asshole-ish of them to do that, but they could technically do it. Its their duty to raise him up to that point though.

The kid should move out. No matter where he ends up it'd be better than having to deal with that all the time.
