Okay, I just put a brand new comp together and i'm having some issues. This is extremely frustrating.

I installed windows, worked fine, installed graphic drivers, worked fine, installed mobo chipset drivers, worked fine...

at least i thought. Now i get the wierdest situation ever.

RANDOMLY, and i mean about 85% of the time when i boot, i see the desktop, 2 items on the task manager pop up an then i get a complete freeze and my comp reboots.

Now the odd thing, randomly it gets passed this and i can use my comp.

So originally i figured it was USB issues because it seemed to always happen when my mouse was plugged in via USB.

So i would unplug it and boot and still get it sometimes.

So i downloaded @BIOS, and updated.

Still having the issue. Got the latest windows and chipset drivers, still problem.

No hardware is missing in Device Manager.

I played with bios settings, made sure USB mouse was enabled, loaded fail safe, optimized, the works.

I am completey confused off my butt as to what this is and why it's happening.

Honestly the only thing i can think of at this point is overheating but that just seems wrong, i activated the warnings in bios and never heard a single one when it would freeze and restart.

Please, someone help me here, i am completely and utterly clueless as how to fix this.

Here is my comp: http://secure.newegg.com/WishL...ishListNumber=12430088

Your parts all look fine.
If you think it may be a heat issue you can always re-seat your cpu HSF.

Otherwise I suggest going through the event viewer and look for red and yellow in the application and system logs.

This is a new computer so it may have hardware compatibility issues or hardware conflicts. On the conflict side of things you can remove/disconnect all hardware not needed to boot you computer and test for freeze issues. If the system is now working fine reintroduce the hardware one at a time to find device that causing a problem. You can also try your card in different slots on you motherboard to see if that helps. As far as the BIOS goes make sure your using the newest one and its setup to minmize conflict with its onboard devices by disabling all devices mother not using e.g. sound/ports/network/firewire ect. as that will free up more resources.

After following the above suggestions and not finding the cause of your problem, I would run memory diagnostics. You could either have a bad stick of memory or an incompatability between memory and motherboard.

Well, technically, yes. But not all 800 mhz memory will clock to 1066. Those that will are sold as 1066.

What does CPU-z say about memory speeds and latencies (compare the latencies on the Memory tab to the latencies on the SPD tab). And since we're talking 4 gigs hers, you may have to increase the memory voltage, raise the latencies and up the NB voltage to get it stable.

A lot of memory manufacturers states there fastest speed the memory can run without voiding the warranty which requires overclocking and higher memory voltage setting. There default optimal spec run at the lower speed by default on most motherboards to my knowledge.
