HOT - Comcast Digital Cable (possible YMMV)

I called Comcast the other day to get Digital Cable Plus with the current promo -- 3 Months free. After the contractor installed the system I was checking the work order and it said PLATINUM (which is normally 99/month in Boston). I called Comcast to ask them why they gave me Platinum when Id only asked for plus and didnt want to pay 100 a month just for cable. The CSR told me that it's an unadvertised deal, where you can get Digital Platinum for $5 a month "Through October" so Im assuming he means it's part of the 3 month promo, but not advertised on the website.

$5 / month for digital platinum (all 5 Premium channels w/ On Demand) is pretty damn HOT. Im gonna wait until I get my first bill back from Comcast before I start celebrating of course.

Not sure if it's relevant but I have HSI from them also (maybe it's only available to multiple services customers)

Don't think Comcast is always something special. Here in the ATL it's like $90 for expanded basic cable (not digital) and HSI. And there are no deals if you're already subbing unless you like losing cable & HSI for 3 months.

expanded - $24.99 (last I checked)
internet - $49.99


That adds up to $75...

internet - $49.99


That adds up to $75...

but to get the expanded you have to pay for the basic as well....so its $15.99 + $24.99 + $49.99 = $90.97. So you get your numbers straight!

hun? sounds like a pretty common promo for the new subscribers. "Unadvertised"?? "October"?? CSR is playing word games with you...

comcast sucks
i have analog service, now they are forcing me to rent cable boxes for all the tv, they are scrambling channel like sci fi and cartoon channel that did not need the box before.

comcast burned me real bad, so i stopped them for cable. if i didn't need them for internet, i wouldn't be using them at all! this is after having them for 20+ years

In the Sac area, I get expanded cable at the single price of basic cable...no mods done. HSI added to packages, so monthly total is about $55
