Folks, yes, this incident sucks. In a nutshell so that this thread may be locked and yet have people know what it's about -

During the recent 9-11 terrorist murders in New York, an ambulence needed water for shock victims, and the rescue workers shelled out $130 of their own money for three cases of water from Starbucks to use for these victims. What followed was some disinterest from Starbucks management during communications with them about the callousness of their actions for charging them to help these victims. Eventually, Starbucks, in an attempt to rescue their own hides from this now-increasingly public embarrassment, reimbursed the ambulence company.

Looks like Dukin' Donuts coffee for today!

Lock down.

okay well, if anyone wants a real deal on bottled water - Office Depot has Spring Water, 16.9-ounce Bottles, Case Of 24 for $6.99. Order 8 of them, slap on a $20 off $50 coupon, and you got 192 bottles for about $35 shipped (not including tax). 18 cents a bottle

Hmm. It says "brand of water varies by region".. I don't know if I would buy it then. There is a lot bottle water out there that has "minerals" in it, but it's really just sodium so it tastes like salt water. I usually drink aquafina, and sometime evian.. But those bottles look like some crappy poland spring or aberfoyle, and I would much rather join my dog in drinking from the toilet

Before this gets locked: Starbucks donated a million bucks to the disaster efforts. Sure, you may question their motives, but that money will help those who suffered.

Tasteless, foolish, and utterly disappointing. Another loss for mankind.

Its easy to donate a million dollars when you can write it off. This article upset me very much. I don't think I will visit Starbucks anymore.

Let's see...YES you can.

When Clinton disgraced this country and lied we were mocked around the world for his actions. The people of Sudan were protesting the United States and one person held a sign in english stating, "Srew Monica Not Sudan!"

There are countless situations when people lump the problems one person created onto the whole.

And please do not use the Lord's name in vain.

As much as it is fun villianize Starbucks it sounds like it was a genuine screwup and Starbucks was embarassed about it... Whomever ran that Starbucks store was a real idiot but some people can't see beyond the end of their own nose to realize that in some cases things don't go by the book. Just my 2 cents and I don't even go to Starbucks or own stock .

Think what kind of shock he was going through. He was probably just doing what he thought Corporate would like. In every other situation in history, you would get fired for giving that away.

Starbucks did what they could to cover their mistake; give them a break.

Jesus Christ, man. You certainly have the right to practice your religion, but what gives you the right to CENSOR the speech of others just because YOU get offended? Not everybody is Christian on this forum, and you must respect that. "Christ!" "Jesus Christ!!" or "Oh God!!" are commonly used expressions in United States English. It is not considered obscene like the f-word or s-word or whatever, nor is it vulgar, like certain sexually explicit words. Thus, you have absolutely no right to expect people to avoid using these expressions, any more than you have the right to ask people not to say "Oh, darn!" or "Wow!!" or "Woh!!!"

<< LOCK! >>

I'm personally for a lock and banning. #1) this is three weeks old; #2) he didn't use the search function; #3) put it in the wrong forum; #4) tries to censor others, and #5) generally just pisses me off
