Saw this while checking out the site. Should be sold out soon I'm guessing. $599 for a new laptop with core 2duo, 9400m graphics card, 4gb ram, hd led screen, free shipping, and windows 7 upgrade.

9400 is not a dedicated graphics card, I'm pretty sure it's integrated.

I believe your right, I looked it up. From what I read it would handle a little older games fairly well. Could probably run newer games low settings and low resolution. It still seems like a pretty good deal for a laptop that would be ok for the occasional game.

Yeah, this is about the cheapest setup for actual gaming on a laptop.

Hmm.. I dunno about the performance from that AMD cpu.

I've been looking at this one which seems to have a better processor and similar GPU for the same price

The only kicker on that model is the low screen resolution, I was looking at that one myself. You can actually customize it on Lenovo's website with a geforce 240m now though.

This Is a nicer machine, and cheaper, just remember to add an OS.

I've had great luck with prostar, 2 laptops both took over 5 years to die with very heavy use.

--edit not quite up to the specs of the asus just above, but its not a refurb either

This is the gaming laptop I ended up buying. They have these on sale at my local Frys Arlington Texas for $899. I didn't post that as hot deal because I'm not sure how many people live in DFW area.

Yes.

I go between my girlfriend's and my house and play at both locations.

Carrying a desktop, monitor and all accessories up/down 2 and 3 flights of stairs at each place... I'd rather spend the money and get a "gaming" laptop (high performance, Photoshop, movie editing, etc).

The 2 dead ones? I'll see what I can dig up, the first was a P3 600, with an Ati 8mb video card, forget the exact model, gave it to my bro and it worked for ages, I set the thing on top of dirty greasy robots and played eq on it in a pretty hardcore raiding guild for ~4 years. Its long gone and was pretty trashed by the end. The 2nd was a 2.8ghz P4 with an Ati 9700, again for a road warrior EQ gaming laptop, both cost me ~2500, around the same tech level at the time as the 2500 one on the sight is, both were 17" screens. I still have the P4, it would be going still but I let the GF take it and she didn't pack it properly, and it came back with some rather suspicious dents and will not boot (graphics is on the motherboard and probably cost more than its worth to repair). The touch pad died a couple years ago, but I always use a mouse anyway.
