hot linksys clearance @ walmart

Was at local walmart lastnight(central ca) and it appears they are getting rid of most of their selection of linksys networking products. Picked up the last 2 befsr41's 4port cable/dsl routers for $25ea. They had quiet a few of the "network in a box" kits for $20ish as well.

Thanks! I will stop and check it out this afternoon. My local Wally World's electronics dept. is loathe to put much of anything on clearance(they'd rather let it sit and collect dust), but hopefully they'll have these marked down.

I saw an open-box (returned?) BEFSR41 for $25.00 at my local walmart this morning. Nothing else though.

Hmm. My local Wal-Crap has (had?) a few BEFSR41 v2 4-port routers on "clearance" for $85. While you can get their newer, smaller, "Network Everywhere" 4-port router for $50 on the regular shelf aisle. I *wish* they would mark them down to $25, I'd pick up the remainder and resell them to some friends.

yeah, well they were on an endcap with some cellfone stuff. One was sealed still, the other had the color sleeve on the outside torn up a bit, but the inside whitebox still looked unopened.

I'm not sure about that, I picked up 3 BEFSR41's from walmart for $20.something about two months ago ( thread link ), and all three were factory sealed. Seemed like a clearance to me.

Checked the Moutain View, CA walmart. They had them but they were $88 and change. Cheaper on ebay.

Not returns, maybe in your store they might have been. This is a huge YMMV because electronic departments did the mod flip (change out everything in the department) like over a month a go and most of this stuff should be gone by now.

I picked up 1 more sealed befsr41 lastnight at another store in town(they had 3more). These scan at the pricecheckers and come up as "linksys $25.00" and come up on the receipt/register as "router $25.00". Walmart is in fact doing away with linksys in favor of network anywhere products that look like cheap netgear knockoffs.

Two of the Walmarts I visited today had a number of Linksys 10/100 PC cards on clearance for $10, marked at $15.

The cheapest I've found them online is $32.

It works with standard 16-bit and Cardbus slots, and has the jack integrated into the card.

I bought a "Network Anywhere" NIC for I was desperate. On the manual in the box it says Linksys. So, I am assuming "Network Anywhere" is just the cheaper line of Linksys products.

The Linksys wireless-B router is ~$69 at the Foothill Ranch store in Socal. I scanned it to confirm. Marked down from about $80 - sorry don't remember the exact prices, just remember they were too much.

Actually the Network Anywhere does ONE thing that the BEFSR41, doesn't.....it allows passthrough of the L2TP protocol for VPN connections.

Cisco bought LinkSys, so really, "Network Anywhere" is still LinkSys, just under a different (new brand) name.
