sleep with a soft but steady noise, like a fan or something next to your bed, turn the AC on, drink a lot of milk

Take a few Tylenol PMs, you should drop off in about 20 minutes after that.

If you still have trouble after that, try a few shots of Nyquil. I promise you once you go under with those in your system, it would take the horn of a industrial Oil Tanker to wake you from that slumber.

Ive got a fan on, and Im allergic to milk (Darn you lactose....youve beaten me YET AGAIN!!!! *shakes an angry fist*)

Its been like this for 3 days now. I dont think Ive gotten more than 3 hours of sleep in that three days, and that wasnt all at once. Im pushing it here, and I CANT SLEEP. GAH!!!

It might not be so bad if I actually got some stuff done, but Im a lazy bum and just lay in the bed hoping Ill eventually pass out.

I dont have any nyquil. If this goes on much longer though, I will probably go out and buy some. I dont like to medicate away my problems, but Im seriously going crazy (going?) here.

HA, it sucks doesn't it?
I have suffered from it for 3 years muahaha. You will become one of those creepy pale night people that work in crappy night jobs from now on!

There isn't really a cure:
Stop Smoking
Exercise
Don't drink so much caffine
and as my RA told me, have rigourous sexual activity. It was actually written in his RA's manual as a cure for it.. ahh.. good times..

You might try some vigorous exercise or labor during the day, then have some hot tea or a glass of wine before bed. Stay away from the computer while in bed too.

My problem is I get tired around 11:30pm, and if I tried sleeping then, I'd have no trouble. Instead, I don't feel like sleeping just yet, and about an hour later I'm wired. I now won't be able to sleep until about 6am, and if I tried, I'd just lay there until then.

Nooooooo.....I dont want to work the night shift at a hotel!!! (Many of my friends have the pleasure (pleasure?) of doing that)

I was thinking about it, and I think I know what caused it.....I had been trying to go off caffeine for a while, almost two months clean, then all of a sudden, thursday night I decided to drink coffee. I ended up drinking a whole pot, and half of another.

Dangit.....now I have to go off caffeine again

Alcohol never lets me down A bottle of wine for a relaxing night, or a glass of vodka for a quick sleep aid

You need healthy natural sleep. Chew some Valarian Root and get plenty of exercise.

Thats what they said on Fight Club at least...

Wasn't his solution to insomnia to create a cult based on beating fellow members to bloody pulps and destroying the main buildings of many corporate groups not to mention uncounted acts of vandalism and unspeakable acts in the food service industry?

purposefully deprive yourself of sleep for several days, then go to bed at a regular time. If that doesn't work deprive yourself of sleep for even longer and then attempt to sleep at a regular time.

Its an herbal remedy so you should be able to get it over the counter pretty easily.

dont sleep over the period of one night... and stay awake the next day.

by the time the next nite comes around, you should have been awake for like 32+ or so hours, and sleep will come.
