OK then, Go on in your ignorance.

Yes, individual franchises may be out of compliance. However, Franchises are not allowed to use any other tray liners than those supplied by McD's corprate and it is policy to post the info on the walls and make brochures available at the counter. Franchises that do not comply run the risk of losing their franchise.

You can take that, or leave it. But realize this: You have won no argument here. All you have done is stick your fingers in your ears and scream "I DON'T HEAR YOU."

I have NEVER been in a McDonald's that did not have the info on the wall. And in the past 4 years I have NEVER been to a McDonald's that did not have tray liners and pamphlets.

And I eat at McDonald's at least 4 times a month, know owners of McDonald's stores and have eaten at McDonald's in many states. Hell, I work in the food industry as a franchise owner myself.

But that's OK. You feel you know more than I do on the matter simply to try and score points on an internet message board. You think you know more than me about franchise compliance rules, while I am a franchise owner. That's cool.

Now if only you could realize what an idiot you are making yourself look like now...

I'm not trying to win an argument. Rather, I'm trying to get "Mr. Where's Your Support" to give me a little more than anecdotal evidence. I also never claimed to know more than you on this matter, barring the McDonald's in my area, which you most likely have never visited. I simply want support for your claims, much like you want from others when they make claims. In all this time you have spent trying to belittle me, I am certain you could have found some sort of support.

:::sigh:::

Are you enjoying that obvious hard-on you have for me?

I'll tell you what, give me the address of the local McDonald's you claim doesn't have the wall mount, the liners and the pamphlets and I'll call them and ask.

Although I'm sure you'll figure out a way to discount this as well.

Meanwhile, Google: +McDonald's +nutrition information +wall to find countless references to the wall mounted nutrition fact sheets mandatory at all McDonald's.

fvck you, ronald mcdonald. i'll make my own...

you are a wrong on this.

the egg mcmuffin is made from a real egg. its made in cylinder on teh grill. how do i know? i worked in the grill for 2 years while in highschool/college.

I don't hate Mcdonalds or any other fast food. they are fine for what they are. A place ot grab a quick convienant meal. We eat fast food maybe twice a week while out doing errands.

is it healhty? nope. is it good? well depends on where and what. Wendy's spicy chicken is great. Arby's hot ham and cheese is great (but damn $2 for it? pfft).

i stand corrected :thumbsup: ty for the new info... i was told incorrect info by someone who's brother worked at mcdonald's.

either way, their food's still terrible.

edit: apparently, back then, they used real eggs... now, they use "egg product" which is made of real eggs, but isn't an actual real egg. it's just this cylinder of precooked, compartmentalized egg products that you nuke in the microwave... it's not a real egg that you crack over a grill anymore.

Yes, they are still actual eggs that are cracked over the griddle. Only they are made before the rush and stuck in a warmer until bought.

Yeah, they still crack them to make the sandwiches.

This stupid myth started because of the forms they use to cook the eggs.

Everyone likes McDonalds. Except no one is willing to admit they like it. Kind of like admitting to like watching Spongebob Squarepants.

Your friend's brother is wrong.

They crack an egg into a round form on the griddle and cook it. It hasn't changed once since they first invented the form and McMuffin in 1973.

i'll get to the bottom of this... tomorrow, after i get out of the gym, i'll go to mcdonald's and ask them if i can watch the egg of an egg mcmuffin get cooked...

i'll post my findings tomorrow.

It's expensive, and it's pretty much crap. You can make your own food or if you want to eat unhealthy, go to Carl's Jr. and eat a tasty burger with some subtance, not a BigCrap.

Gotta be kidding me there. McDonalds' workforce is on the low end in terms of cleanliness, and who knows where that meat comes from. Are you telling me that the staff at, say, the Holiday Inn restaurants or any of the other sit-down restaurants have the same or lower standards?

Fast food is inherently full of trans fat to increase shelf life and sodium to increase preservation. At sit-down restaurants the food is prepared much more carefully, hence why it takes longer to arrive. Also, ingredients and side dishes are generally healthier. For example you may get a side of green beans or cole slaw, vs. a side of a fat-ridden salad or lard-intensive fries.

BTW, my stance is the same for ALL fast-food restaurants. I don't agree that Wendys or Arbys is significantly, if any amount, better than McDonalds. I do believe that sit-down restaurants make higher-quality food from better and more natural ingredients.

I can just feel something in my gut that makes me sick after eating at those places these days. It really is amazing, but I feel quite a bit different after eating at a fast-food restaurant vs. a full-blown one. Additionally, eating a Subway or Quiznos (much fresher ingredients) not only tastes better, but is healthier (depending on what you get), and typically less strain on your gut. I had an Arbys the other day with large fries and I don't think I'll ever eat there again if you want to know the truth.

I can order something like Salmon at most sit-down restaurants, which is usually considered healthy due to Omega-3 fatty acids. Can I order that at McDonalds? No, there is practically nothing exceptionally healthy at McDonalds. There are maybe a couple remotely healthy things. There is the grilled chicken sandwich but personally it doesn't taste nearly as good as the grilled chicken I've had at sit-down restaurants.

Nonsense! MCD's is actually my least favorite fast food place, I eat fast food 3-4 times a week, and I honestly can't think of a place I like less.

Carl Jr's = better
Wendy's = MUCH BETTER!
Jack N The Box = better burgers + seasoned curly fries FTW!!!
BK = better (not my favorite...)
Del Taco = Better (they have burgers and fries so...)
In N Out = beeeeeter!
Tommys = 100x better
Rallys = delicious
Sonics = delicious
Dairy Queen = better! (they have burgers in so cal...)

I've eaten burgers at every burger joint in Southern Cali, to be fair I only used places that serve burgers in my comparison. I think the only place I've eaten at that has a worse burger then MCD's is Weinersnitchel, and they're really a hot dog spot.

Did anyone see Supersize Me? All he eats is McDonalds for 30 days. He asked for nutritional info at a bunch of stores and some couldn't find it, or it was downstairs or it was hidden behind some promotional display. I'm not so sure they really want you to find it.
I happened to look at the In n out website, and couldn't find any links to nutritional info, but using their search feature managed to find it . Suspicious?

If you didn't cook it, it's bad for you. It's as simple as that. Every restaurant has to compete with flavor more than with health. McDonald's may offer a 3 lb. salad with 100 calories and no fat, but if it tastes worse than Wendy's 800 calorie small salad, they're going to lose business. Don't go out to eat and expect to be eating healthy.

I'm cool with Mcdonald's. I enjoy their fries, burgers, and nuggets. They also make the best damn Coke around.

They make Coke?

Yep, Coke doesn't ship out the final product to food places. They get the syrup and mix it with carbonated water. McDonald's does the best job of anyone.

Do you think that every McDonald's actually mixes the syrup the same way? My point is that it is not a McDonald's product - just something some guy is mixing together, and I doubt it is something held uniform across the franchise.
joshsquall is right and I know what he means. McDonald's must have a corporate policy of making sure the soda fountains are calibrated and working properly. I drink the diet coke at McD's and it's definitely better than some of the convenience stores around here. You would think something like that is hard to mess up but it's really not.

Actually I'm willing to bet he is not right, as I have tasted a difference in soda from different McDonald's locations. Hell you can notice a change from day to day at almost any place that has a soda fountain.

I've eaten at probably 50 McD's in my lifetime and they've all had Coke which tastes exactly the same. It's not exactly hard to standardize a syrup to carbonated water ratio. The hardware takes care of it.

I guess we've had very different experiences. The difference is that I didn't make a generalization based on mine.

EDIT: I will note though that I haven't eaten at a McDonald's in a long time - dunno if that has anything to do with it... (haven't eaten meat now for 5 years).

Oh FFS, most of my overweight coworkers would be better off getting a cheesburger and a side salad from McDonald's every day for lunch than eat the nutritionally void crap they bring for leftovers. At least with McD's they would be portion size limited.

You guys make it sound like I'm going to instantaneously become obese and have my vitals drop like a rock just for having a fast food burger.

I'll wager that my burger and fry eating ass is in better shape and I have better vitals than most of the snobs that thumb their nose at fast food.
