How do I remove Linux???

How do I remove Linux without removing my boot file? I'm currently running Win98, Win2K and Linux all on diff partitions. If I just format the Linux partition will I be able to boot back to my dual boot that windows provides?

Depends.
Which of your partitions are set as active?.
What are you using for booting?lilo?

If so, lilo could be on the mbr ( in which case, its ok to wipe out your Linux partition). Or linux could be in your root partition and that partition may be set as active/bootable.

On a ordinary Win98/Linux sys., I'd just recommend "fdisk /mbr", but you have Win2K as well. At any rate, just setting the active partition as your "C:" partition usually suffices.

Need more info for specific advice.

If you are using the Win2k bootloader, just remove the Linux line from boot.ini and use PQ Magic to kill the linux partitons and join them to the nearest FAT32 or NTFS partition.

If you are using Lilo, you probably want to install the Win2k bootloader (which you should be able to do with a "repair" install I think...I've never done it, I used Win2k's bootloader when I went triple) and then do the same as above.

You could use Lilo to boot Win98/Win2k but without Linux you have no way of configuring it if you make any changes, so you might as well just install Win2k's loader now.

Fdisk /mbr in Win98 will restore the bootloader to Win98's but that won't let you boot to 2k...and I don't think Win2k has an equivilant though it couldn't hurt to try.
