Uh... yeah. I think of thanks as an abbreviation of thank you... it doesn't need to be abbreviated any more unless you're 14 and text messaging someone on a cell phone.

I'll abbreviate it 'thx' but only when absolutely necessary, mostly in games when I get healed by a medic. No time for the two characters in battle. Anywhere else, I'll type it out, even IM.

thanks is short, yes, but does it really hurt your feelings if you are typing in a game for example and someone says "thx" instead of "thanks" or "thank you?" hmm if you answered yes, you should go kill yourself because you are basically a waste of good resources, like toiletpaper. other people that dont have a broken plunger in their ass can be using the toiletpaper that you are using.
