How do you drive?

do you like having a co pilot tell you when to turn ect.... ? do you ask your passenger to see if its ok to merge? ect....

I am anti it. I pilot on my own. To me having someone to tell you when to merge, when to turn, if there is a car ect.. is dangerous. I am not talking for anyone and I am not making any suggesstion or recommendation to anyone. I am talking about my own style of driving..... I pilot my own.

for refference remember "The Hang Over" movie? the driver ask the fat guy if its ok to merge.... then see what happend? too dangerous to rely on someone. rely on self is more safe.

it also make me nervious when someone tells me when to go and when to break, when to merge ect....

i have someone once debate with me about having friends help you when to turn when to merge ect... i say its dangeorus and pilot alone is safer.... they kept on debating..... blah blah.

I never ask passenger to check if it's okay to merge. If I'm really tired I might ask them to double check.

Other than that I will only ask passenger for directions if I don't have GPS. I'm terrible with directions.

If you're not confident enough in your decisions or observations, maybe you shouldn't be on the road

I am the driver, it's my responsibility to check what is around me/the vehicle when it is in motion.. not the passengers.

yeah i ask for direction too if i needed to. i dont let anyone help me pilot. i just tell them not to unless i ask for direction.

usually young people help each other pilot but all ages as well.

when i drive i automatically look at what is nescessary and do all the requirements of looking ect.. my hand automatically signal when turning.... when merching i automatically look. i do not want co pilot. co pilot makes me nervious.

The only time I'll ask a passenger for help, is if I'm trying to back out of a crowded parking lot, while blocked in by two giant SUVs.

I do the the same when I'm a passenger, I can check one side, while the driver checks the other side. But as far as stuff like merging? No. I've got mirrors and blind spot mirrors. I can make up my own damn mind if its safe to merge.

i let the voices in my head tell me where to go. Its how I discovered lane splitting for cars. Motorcycles dont have to be the only ones anymore.

I have a co pilot, assistant co pilot and backup co pilot. I also have a mission control center watching from further down to give more directions.

Perfect parking every time!

On serious note, I hate having a backseat driver. My parents are TERRIBLE for it. I HATE driving with my parents in the car. Some times they'll tell me I drive too slow, other times too fast, other times they'll randomly start freaking out if there's a stop sign or red light coming (like 50m away). Can't win no matter how I drive. Worse is if my mom AND dad are in the car. I'll be driving the speed limit and my mom will say I drive slow, my dad will say I drive fast, then randomly their roles inverse... like WTF?

I trust my own eyes while driving, and nothing else. Also, I tend to only be a 'backseat driver' when I see the driver doing something incredibly stupid (like ignoring oncoming traffic or a red light/stop sign).

I hate when people offer any directions at all. Most of the time backseat drivers will get you killed if you listened to them.

i know how you feel. back in my teen hood starting driving i have alot of yells telling me what to do. it even make it worse that i cant concentrate. I am not giving you advice or any recommendation.... i am talking about myself that i do not like when people try to co pilot.

when i drive alone i feel more relax. now im over 25 and im a good driver and everybody i know weather it be cousins, friends ect... they know that i dont like co pilot so they never tell me what to do.

when i was a young teen driver i listen to what my superior says as i was still a new driver but their voice was too loud making me nervious but its no big deal. now im an adult i dont like having co pilot as i know every rules ect.... i still get nervious when someone trys to co pilot.

someone tried to co pilot telling me to go ahead and turn left but the car still coming from the right hand direction toward the lane im going..... i did not listen. i just ignore and pilot my own and listen to myself and look and wait till the car completely clears from all direction. i did not try to argue and find fault ect.... i just ignore.

this is not advice.

sometimes when driving with older relative or parent..... its normal for them to kept telling you this and that and find fault at you, when to turn, when to break ect..... its just their nature to tell cause they are your superior, your relative, your parent ect... i always listen to myself when driving. i do not find fault at what they telling me.... i just ignore as it just normal.

again this is not advice.

my relative that is around my age likes to let their friends co pilot. i question that. one time when im in the passenger, they ask me if theres car on the back.... i say pilot alone is more safer and comfortable... then i continue to tell them if theres cars as they want to know. if i were driving i let no one co pilot. more comfortable. they ask too many... not just one time but several time throughout the trip. well this was back then.. now they know how i am like. i like to pilot alone. they dont ask me for co pilot much now.

this is not advice.

If somebody tries offering advice like telling me when to merge, I ignore them. I'm not going to move my vehicle based on secondhand information.

I drive a 2 ton brick. I take it easy, I signal and leave enough room ahead of me and the next vehicle to safely stop. I grin like a maniac whenever someone cuts me off or slides into the gap I leave between my truck and the next because, I understand physics and know if anything happens, I'll roll right over the top of their car.
