Hehe...leave it to a 'Busa owner to start a thread like this. I've ridden a modded Blackbird and that was like being shot out of a cannon...I can only imagine what the Hayabusa experience must be like.

Anywho:

155mph on the aforementioned Honda CBR1100xx (woulda done more, but I chickened out)
140 on my Triumph Daytona
130 in a friend's 911
62mph on my bicycle while blasting down an exceptionally steep road out in CO.

135mph --> 1992 Maxima SE with light mods --> I was a passenger
100mph --> ~1990 Grand Am 4 cylinder --> I was a passenger
85mph --> 1995 Grand AM SE V6 --> I was driving - no good places to safely speed near me, at least not good enough to risk getting a ticket

BTW, anyone know the best/easiest/cheapest way to get a car's speedometer accuratly checked (and hopefully fixed)? Most of my friends agree that the speedo in my 1995 Grand Am reads between 4 and 8 mph too high. I'd really like to get it fixed so I'd have more confidence to go fast and know exactly (or within the normal tolerance of car speedometers) how fast I'm going in relation to the speed limit.

let's see...
~125mph 1984 BMW 533i 5spd (rare car!)-dad was driving, 4 people and luggage mom screaming ;-P
~110mph 1988 Honda Accord LXI - took 10 years and a day to do!
~115mph 1990 Toyota Camry v6 - took just slightly less then the honda
~130mph 1990 Dodge Spirit ES (3.0 liter v6) - pinned the spedo past 125mph and still accelerating
~143mph 1992 Nissan Maxima SE (3.0 liter v6 with Stillen intake and ECU)
it was a clear day, about 75 degrees, slightly uphill and ran out of space I could see if cops were ahead, had 1 passenger and some luggage, had more to go...I estimate it will get up to 150mph on flat ground

My maxima was the one BMDoobieW was talking about...130 is nothing!!! hehe

Look in the Yellow Pages under "speedometers". Most bigger cities have shops that will calibrate your speedo.

Around 85-90 on a 91 taurus - shakes like crazy around 85..

around 100 on a honda accord 99 and I snap a shot of it.. did this a few times..

I dont think cars can do over 125, most car have a shut down program, it makes it illegal to go over certain mph...

I've gone 105 in a minivan as a passanger
90 in my beat up '80 caddilac (only caddilac with a V6 you'll ever find) and the engine just couldn't push any harder, the pedal was at the floor.
115 driving in a Chevy Corsica, nice little car. 155 hp in something that light is pretty quick.

Not to be a tool or anything, but how do you know you did 185?

Your bike specs from another thread:

<< 2000 Suzuki Bandit 1200, it has a Holshot header and exhaust, gsxr cams, holeshot ignition advancer, K&N pod filters with with holeshot stage 2 jet kit, the bike was $7000 and the mods about $1500, I have a big bore kit in the shop ready to put it in. Don't know what the topspeed is, the speedo goes to 170mph, and it will go well past that >>

Reviews gave the Bandit 12 a dyno rating of about 110-115 hp and a top speed of about 145mph....and while you have undoubtedly given your bike a good kick in the pants hp-wise with the mods you made, I can't believe you added enough to get a bike that un-aerodynamic to go that fast. The Hayabusa makes a little over 150hp at the rear wheel, is extremely aerodynamic (for a bike anyway) and has a top speed of 189mph...only 4 more that you're claiming.

Obviously everyone on this thread is exaggerating a bit, but 185 on a Bandit is just about impossible without some serious mods. You'd need to be pulling over 160hp at the rear wheel to overcome the aerodynamics and get it up into 'Busa territory.

Something like ~150 - 160 mph (Beeemer Z3 in Europe)

Some people in this thread are so full of .......
Driving more than 130 mph in an american car that has a motor which blocks driving faster than a certain speed ... yeah, right.
Most people seem not even to know about this little feature of their cars .... tss, tss
