This benchmark simulates user actions for adding, completing, and removing to-do items using multiple examples in TodoMVC. Each example in TodoMVC implements the same todo application using DOM APIs in different ways. Some call DOM APIs directly from ECMAScript 5 (ES5), ECMASCript 2015 (ES6), ES6 transpiled to ES5, and Elm transpiled to ES5. Others use one of eleven popular JavaScript frameworks: React, React with Redux, Ember.js, Backbone.js, AngularJS, (new) Angular, Vue.js, jQuery, Preact, Inferno, and Flight. Many of these frameworks are used on the most popular websites in the world, such as Facebook and Twitter. The performance of these types of operations depends on the speed of the DOM APIs, the JavaScript engine, CSS style resolution, layout, and other technologies.

Core M-5Y10c @ 52.02

Images aren't necessary, but please state your cpu speed. The web browser of your choice. Mine is Edge 83. Thank you.

This has more to do with OS/browser then cpu speed unless we all run the same browser.
Also all the flashes, there should be a seizure warning.

i7-8700K at 4.5 Ghz under Win10

Chrome 83 score: 130
Edge 83 score: 136
Old Edge score: 86
IE refuses to run this for some reason… will post later if I can make it work with some bug-fixing on a local copy of the bench

True it's mainly software dependent, but it's very consistent on one browser doing consecutive runs, tried several times and the score barely moved by a point.
Guess what another test were the Apple cores shine against other mobile cpus, not too bad vs desktops too… their new ARM based macs won't have issues with web pages for sure

Sorry, what?! How, no no, why would you even?

Firefox (regular, not nightly)
76.0.1 (64-bit)
Ivy Bridge i5-3470 quad @ 3.2Ghz base clock, 3.4Ghz all-core boost.
8GB DDR3

Kind of scary how similar the score was to my 6C/12T Ryzen that was 100% under load, versus this PC basically unloaded, except for HWMonitor, and a few tabs of AT forums.

Re-run in private / incognito with all extensions disabled
Chrome - 121.6
Firefox - 119.3
Edge - 132.0

Fairly negligible. But holy smokes I need to reconsider extensions!

Desktop: 55.4 (i5-6500 w/iGPU 16GB, Fedora 32 / kernel 5.6.8 64 bit, Firefox 75.0)

Phone: 156 (iPhone 11 Max, iOS 13.5)

I knew the phone would win, but I'm surprised by how much. I had a dozen or so Firefox windows open and a total of probably 75 tabs, not sure how much inactive tabs might affect things.

tested this on another PC an e5420 (2.5Ghz "Core 2 Quad" with a HD 5850)
XP sp3
firefox 59.2 15.3

10 1903 x64
edge 83 beta 40.1
firefox 76 35.1
old edge 25.8

it's kind of interesting that the score with my other 2.5GHz "C2Q" was 10% higher or so, there is a difference with the video card and software (1903 vs 1909, edge 83 vs 82, but also I have the meltdown fix disabled on the l5408 one which was faster) but the CPU should perform the same

in any case, XP was slow but still could run it at least, well firefox

they have a couple of light extensions which I don't think would affect things much (ublock origin, h264ify)

It's interesting how much ublock origin slows down this bench.

In Waterfox Classic with extensions, I get ~77

With a fresh download of Firefox Portable (76), I get ~133

(3900x @ 4.4 GHz static)

Good testing.

in my setup I have ad blocking done at the router level to avoid having to deal with it at the browser level and it covers everything on the network.

Should see if there is a difference with Ad block vs ublock.

This is like golf right? So lower is better?

Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU M 520 @ 2.40GHz

VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 02)

Will try home machine another time when I'm home.

How is your score so low?
I got 25.9 on a Pentium P6200 (Vivaldi 3.1).
Started at 32.62 and ended at 22.72 because of the heat.

Mine is also a very old notebook.
How can a C2D be faster than a Nehalem 2C4T with higher clocks? You're cheating.

I wonder if Linux is the issue, it does not really tend to use hardware acceleration for anything at all. Not sure if this test even relies on that though. It's all GUI stuff so I think that just uses GDI resources.

Part is probably also Waterfox. I have 3900x at stock and got 113 (firefox) and with ublock turned off I got 126. So it does have a clear impact but not as big as in your case which again leads me to think that waterfox is mostly the culprit for your 77 score.

uBlock origin on Chrome, Firefox, and Edge all seem to bring the score down 10-15 points.

When I had Amazon Smile, Reddit Enhancement Suite, uBlock origin, HTTPSEverywhere, Privacy Badger, it dragged down the Chrome score 50-60 points total. I decided to disable Smile and RES, and it feels really snappy again. I guess I never realized how normalized the slowdown had become to me.
