been great for me, they've been around a very very long time

The reason I asked because they said I do not have a life time warrantty.
"Based on the receipt on your registration, your card is not covered under the limited lifetime warranty"

On their web site says
Products Covered: VisionTek Performance memory, ATI Based Retail Packaged “VisionTek” Brand 3D Graphics Accelerators except those covered under other VisionTek Warranty Policies VisionTek Products LLC, (“VisionTek”) is pleased to warrant to the original purchaser (“Warrantee”) of the graphics card (“Product”), that the product will be free from manufacturing defects in material for the lifetime of the retail product when given normal and proper usage. The product must be registered within 30 days from the original date of purchase to receive this limited lifetime warranty. All products not registered within 30 days will ONLY receive a 1 year limited warranty.
Here is my invoice

I am trying decipher why and what reason they have for this statement

You purchased your card on 8/15. If you did not register your card with them by 9/15, you only have a 1 year warranty. Not that "lifetime of the retail product" means forever. I think the days of "forever" warranties died with BFG. No impetus for other companies to compete in that respect.

how can you register the card without it in your possession? I know XFX requires that you input the serial number of the card to register it. (same deal, to get the life time warranty, you have to register it within 30 days.)

I would fight them if they refuse to honor the warranty.

Well if you paid by credit card you most likely have an extra year of warranty through them.
We are not talking about my Credit Card

Doesn't matter. It shouldn't take you a month to get it. (Most likely the date you receive it)
We are not discussing about; how long it should have taken.

I am intend to.
I couldn't enter the Serial # as VisionTek require
I am not quiet sure; what is the purchase date here ?
Day Order went through
Day I recived the product ?

Call Visiontek and straighten it out. They might be able to make an exception for you.

I got email from and saying
We are sorry for the confusion. We meant to indicate that your card is NOW (NOT) covered under the Limited Lifetime warranty.

How is this confusing?

The product must be registered within 30 days from the original date of purchase to receive this limited lifetime warranty. All products not registered within 30 days will ONLY receive a 1 year limited warranty.

The "purchase date" is 8/15, per the invoice you posted.

Register before 9/15 = limited lifetime warranty.
Register after 9/15 = limited 1 year warranty.

Rma through tiger direct. They have a 30day return policy i believe. Just explain your card is not working and you just want a replacement. Then register the new card.

Most of you in here are missing the part where he ordered on 8/15 but it took a month to ship out. Probably due to being out of stock quickly. That means he should have the ability to register the product for the lifetime warranty.

If i pre-order a new piece of hardware and it doesn't come in stock for 2 months, that does not mean i lose my warranty simply because i paid for it ahead of time.

Doesn't matter how long it should take. It was probably on sale and supplies ran out so it took a few weeks to restock and get the orders fulfilled. Visiontek is trying to avoid honoring the warranty plain and simple. It is not the fault of the op if the retailer ran out of stock and he had to wait.

I dont know the laws in canada but i would think that visiontek should be required to honor it based on when the retailer actually shipped the product, not when the initial order was placed. If you do not have product in hand you cannot register anything so it is 100% unfIr to say "since you paid on 8/15 and tiger direct did not ship until 9/26 you are sol.

The only thing i do not know is whether the card the op bought specifically is not on the list for those covered under lifetime warranty. Perhaps when they went on sale visiontek dropped the lifetime warranty for that model and that is what they mean by "now". Still would need to know if thw retail box claims lifetime warranty and in that case they almost certainly have to honor it but again i do not know canadian laws regarding this.

If this is the case I will avoid Visiontek forever (disclaimer: I'm semi skeptical anyways ). What a joke if you actually didn't receive the card for over a month.

Wow, that is pretty amazing how changing one single letter in one single word completely inverts the entire meaning.

It's hard to construct a sentence that way, where it can come down to a single letter in a single word to change your entire meaning.

Good to hear they will honor their warranty, and keep us updated.

I did miss that part. In fact, I've looked through his posts in this thread and am still missing it. Maybe I need more caffeine?

All I found was a mention that he "registered the card last week," which would put him OUT of a lifetime warranty and into a 1 year warranty.

And of course their warranty statement says...
VisionTek reserves the right to change the terms of this warranty without notice.

I'm still confused, it is confirmed for the lifetime warranty OR IS NOT? wth is that sentence supposed to mean.

You have the lifetime warranty now? Yes/No

If you look at the picture of the invoice he posted it clearly show the order date was in August but wasn't actually shipped until late September. I think it would be a bad call on Visiontek's part to deny him of a lifetime warranty based on the facts presented here

lol. The first one was the worst possible typo in that sentence, and the explanation makes it even more confusing

I'm guessing they meant to explain that they wanted to type 'Now', instead of 'not' and deduct the 'not' by rewriting it but put it inside a bracket, i.e. "we meant to say 'now', not 'not'"
