How low can you go??

I did an experiment today: I tried to see how low I can make VCore go on my overclocked 6300 and still remain stable.

First I run this OC completely stable at 1.2875 (which DS3 identifies as the default voltage for 6300). Then I start reducing the voltage while Orthos is running with the help of EasyTune 5. I didn't see any errors until I lowered the voltage to 1.05!!! Of course I don't know how stable the system is during the intermediate stages. But i think it's remarkable that I was able to drop it so low while still maintaining a 50% overclock!

Does anybody else see the same phenomenon with 6300?? I almost don't trust my results...

What week chip?
I've mine at 1.3 in bios (1.26 real), I'll have to try lowering it some more.
You should run real cool at that vcore; almost don't need a cpu fan.

If it is indeed stable at those voltages, the core temps never even go above 45 (stock fan)...

I think i may try this for mine.

Instead of running @ 1.45V (1.42V in Windows) which gives me close to my max OC, i should try running around 7x400-450 & see how low i can set vcore.

The idea of running w/o fan on my TT BT is sweet

I can boot Windows at 1.02 but its not anywhere near stable. I just want to get into windows at .99 for SS. Thats my new goal. X6800 Week 31.

Wow it boots with 1.02!! I think i'm going to spend some time and find a nice stable undervolt-overclock at 2.8 GHz so that it runs cool! I'm thinking 1.22 volts would be nice mark to shoot for (enough margin for stability but definitely not a lot of heat!)...

Eh, i'm not too impressed with my E6300.

She wouldn't run more than 37 minutes Orthos last night @ 7x429 (3003 MHz) @ 1.25V (1.22V idle/1.2V load)

What if you increase the voltage to 1.3? It might work then... The way that I feel is most of the time, the extra 200 MHz on top of a VERY fast processor is not really noticeable. I personally would trade 200 MHz for a low low voltage.

I'm currently testing a setup at 1.22 V and 400x7. Orthos blend has been running for 2.5 hrs without issue.

n7: That's still impressive given the amount of people who have to up the voltage way past 1.25 to get 7x429!

Yeah i later was thinking about my comment & i realized that if i could run overclocked to 3003 MHz @ say around 1.25V actual, that's actually ridiculously good

I'm too spoiled by seeing other's insanely nice results.

Well i am actually presently running quite low voltage for everything.

Since my case seems to have horrible airflow, now that i am running with the side closed, i have backed things down a bit to keep temps down.

I'm currently running 7x429 1:1

3003 MHz @ 1.24 idle; 1.23V load
RAM @ DDR2-858 4-4-3-4 1.95V :Q

Those numbers result in at least 4+ hours of Orthos Blend stability in a very hot case.
