How to: 2 wireless connections

Hello. I used to connect my laptop to my router for internet and to access my wireless printer.

I have recently been wirelessly tethering my cell phone to my laptop.

Is there a way I can ALSO connect to my router so I can access my wireless printer?

Presently, I disconnect my cell phone tether and reconnect to my router to print...then reconnect to my cell phone when I am done printing.

In order to connect to two different wireless networks at the same time, you would need to have two separate wireless network adapters in the computer. Or connect to the printer with an ethernet cable while keeping the phone tethered for the wireless connection.

Wow. I never knew you could have more than one wireless network adapter installed at a time.


I see there are USB wireless network adapters. Is it very complicated to get the new wireless network adapter to work with an existing wireless network adapter?

EDIT: Will the two wireless network adapters interfere with each other?

It's possible, but not easy and doesn't always work, and really isn't a recommended option in most cases. I only said that to explain what you would need to do. A better option would be to continue doing what you are doing, or use a wired connection from the laptop to the printer (or the router the printer is attached to).
