I hear people talking about rank within Team Anandtech, how meny TA members are participating, etc., but I don't know where to find that information. Can you tell me?

Also, I noticed one member posting stats that say his team affiliation on top with his name. My stats show only the name, with team participation only seen in the user profile.

To get your team affiliation on top, go to your stats page and look at the links up at the top, on the black header. You'll see one that lets you edit your profile, and if you're as lazy as me, you can just click "I cannot remember my password. Please email <yourEmail>'s password" and then check your email... there will be a direct link to your profile page. Check the "Use my real name" checkbox and then put "mechBgon is nice!" in the box down below where it says "Real name." Optionally, you could also put "smithpd--Team Anandtech!" or something.

As for rank, there are several ways we rank ourselves. At Distributed.net, here is the page for Team Anandtech's top 100 contributors overall: http://stats.distributed.net/rc5-64/tmember.php3?pass=&team=10635&source=&low=1&limit=100
and here is the top 100 for yesterday: http://stats.distributed.net/rc5-64/tmember.php3?team=10635&source=y. You can hit the 101-200 link at the bottom to see the next 100, and so on.

Many of the team members are also using Mika's Team Anandtech pProxy, which has both cumulative stats and stats for the last seven days. The "fullstats" are updated on the :15 and :45 minutes of every hour and the "weekstats" are updated on the :00 and :30 minutes. The fullstats are here: http://teamanandtech.dhs.org/dnet/rc5/fullstats/byemail.asp and the weekstats are here: http://teamanandtech.dhs.org/dnet/rc5/weekstats/byemail.asp.

If you want to appear on Mika's, put mika.dhs.org into the client's configuration menu after choosing

2) Buffer and Buffer Update Options, then
6) Keyserver<->client connectivity options, then
2) Automatically select a distributed.net keyserver? ==> no, then
3) Keyserver hostname ==> mika.dhs.org

then exit the configuration menu. After the client flushes any blocks to Mika's, you will see the message "Team Anandtech pProxy!" for the server message, and you will appear on the fullstats and weekstats on the next half-hourly update thereafter.

PS, if you are not already aware, you get into the Configure menu by double-clicking the cow icon to bring the client up into a normal window, then right-click inside the window for the menu with Configure on it. Post if you have any trouble...

Note also that Team Anandtech's top 100 lists above only show blocks that participants submitted while being part of The Team.
Any blocks submitted to another team (big mistake ), while accounted for in your personnal stats, dont show up here.

Thanks, mechbgon. I have done what you suggested and signed on to Mika's proxy.

Yesterday, FYI, I was ranked 306 with 753 blocks. How do those guys get 39,000? Do they have farms of computers at their workplace? Does this beg the question of whether they have permission to do that?

Yes, we're in to farming. All you have to do is put two compatible cows together over night, and the next morning when you come in you have little calves running around.

Actually, smithpd, in my case, I'm the Network/System Administrator for the School of Business at my University. This means that I have 90+ lab computers at my disposal, in addition to personal machines and other computers in my support room--I haven't bothered assimilating my servers yet, as they will be rebuilt soon anyway with the move to Win2k. And yes, I have permission to install whatever I choose into my lab image.
