How's this acne combination?

i just saw an infomercial on this product called Proactiv which is for acne treatment. anyone try it before? it looks interesting.

How's this acne combinaton sound:

Clearasil Pore cleansing cream
cleasil daily skin perfecting treatment
clearasil all-day mattifying moisturizer

I do, its expensive but works(for me at least). But I started several years ago, during teen years. Not sure if I really need it anymore.

yeah, the thing i like about them is that they give you 60 day guarantee or your money back.

Used it, and it works. To me, this I think it boils down to this... (then again, I'm not chemist)

Use twice a day.
1) Exfoliating cleansing cream with benzoyl peroxide
2) Glycolic Alcohol (Acid?) toners
3) Benzoyl peroxide lotion

I'm sure you can get 1 & 3 variations in the supermarket, and probably #2. When my current batch runs out, I think I'm gonna experiment on my own proactiv version.

Neutrogena has a couple products to take care of #1(clear pore cleanser mask) and #3, and Dove has a decent alcohol-free toner for #2

You gotta take into account the price per volume. If you notice, the Proactiv solution package is quite small... but hey, feel free to give Proactiv a shot. It worked well for me (only because before proactiv I just used regular soap and water... lol!)

My Nephew used the product for a couple years, and it worked remarkably well. He has some pretty nasty acne on his cheeks, which is now almost completely gone.

I dont use it, but i heard it works really well and is worth the money. Depending on your skin you might be able to use cheaper stuff though.

It's a rip off. You can get the same thing with any basic benzoyl peroxide cream, an exfoliant and an oil free moisterizer.

"Proactiv" just packages these three basic things together, markets them as "NEW" and charges you a HUGE premium.

The key to using benzoyl peroxide is to spread it thinly ALL over the ENTIRE effected area on a daily, or twice daily basis. I have found that the "Clean and Clear" brand of 10% is the easiest to apply.

Don't fall for hype and marketing, folks.

You probably did not use it correctly. It must be used once or twice daily WITHOUT FAIL, and spread liberally over the ENTIRE area you tend to break out on, e.g., the entire face.

If you just put it on pimples, you aren't using it right. It has to be used with absolute regularity over the entire area and use must continue even after you clear up.

It is best to buy white sheets and use it just before bed each night so you don't have problems with bleaching.

Some clothes will bleach, others wont. Same with sheets and towels. It must depend on the type of dye garment makers use.

why white sheets? i have light blue fitted sheets.

i used it for awhile...it worked, but it was kind of a pain.

so i got some neutrogena residue free soap and used a towel after washing and scrubbed to exfoliate. i haven't had any breakouts since

the best thing you can do, is change your pillowcase once a week. dirty pillowcases make zits mighty fast.

It works for me. But I use Oxy 10, Oxy Deep Cleaning Pads, and Oxy Acne Treatment. I used Oxy 10 and the Oxy pads twice a day, and the Oxy Acne Treatment at night.
