Do you have it resting on a blanket? Get a stand man.
I guess you're keeping it? Looks nice btw.
Didnt come with one! excuse to wall mount :awe:
FYI
its called a monitor because it doesnt have a tuner...
same panel as the tv
Looks good OP. Let us know if there are any issues sitting close to a 42" screen after you've had a chance to use it for awhile.
because you didn't know how to set it up right.Well then tell me this, how come text didn't look as good ANY TV that I tried?

LCD with tuner is optimized for images. there are settings to make it look good in PC (mostly text) mode.

head over to AVS forum and do some reading..
I understand that, it's a monitor. But what is it's advantage over a TV? It's still 1080P, the biggest advantage of monitors is that typically their resolution increases with size (30" monitors have 2560x1600 res, as an example). But this 42" is still just a 1080P display labled as a monitor. I'm not knocking it, I just don't understand what the difference is.
What makes it better than the TV below at $120 more?

Without all the TV image processing crap, it might have much less input lag than a TV
I wouldn't worry too much what others think about it being a tv vs monitor.
The only thing that really matters is if the image and text look sharp to your eyes! It's the quality of the electronics and how they where tweaked that make the image look like it does!
The important thing to decide now is if it meets your expectation and needs and if the image is up to your standards. Don't let your buying purchase decision be swayed by what others are calling it!
There are no advantages here, you made terrible mistake. Reason why this one was on clearance is because they have new model. But that's not what's important...
Pretty much any LG or Samsung can look very good in PC mode, and cost less at that size, and they have a tuner, so once you realize 40+ screen is not always good as monitor, you can use them as TV. If TV supports 1080P over VGA, then there's no any image processing, and looks great. Same can be accomplished over HDMI with some tweaking.
Next, your dot pitch is huge. You can see the actual pixels if you put in on screen. Yep, it is big, but resolution is not. Text looks jaggy. Games look terrible without AA.
If you have spent this much, you'd be better off paying few hundred more and buying 27" Dell Ultrasharp (which has much more real estate despite smaller size and will be very useful in upcoming years)... You say you can't return it, eh?
Very good purchase IMO You will have lots of fun gaming on such a big screen. I know I do! Just remember to ramp up AA!
Yep, I'm happy with web browsing and gaming...
And I don't see any pixels on screen...(well I do if I put my NOSE right on the screen...LOL!)
Clear as a crystal!
