One thing that I found nice about hp monitors is the ability to purchase an extended warranty at any point during the initial warranty period. I bought a 25" lcd dirt cheap from ultimate electronics in their last 2 days, and it cost me $22 to extend the warranty to 2 years from purchase date with next business day replacement.

I'm glad you like it, that's all that really matters. But from everything I see, this is just a TV without the tuner. Because it doesn't have the tuner, maybe there are some settings from the factory that are set for PC display use, who knows. But, I linked a TV on the first page that is cheaper and similar (actually a faster response time, too). With that you could save money and enjoy it as a TV from time to time... but you may need to take some time setting it up. Anyway, I hope you enjoy your new display. New hardware is always fun.

Thanks dude...

I understand that, it's a monitor. But what is it's advantage over a TV? It's still 1080P, the biggest advantage of monitors is that typically their resolution increases with size (30" monitors have 2560x1600 res, as an example). But this 42" is still just a 1080P display labled as a monitor. I'm not knocking it, I just don't understand what the difference is.

What makes it better than the TV below at $120 more?

Not beating a dead horse, but I tried that EXACT TV and at 1920x1080 the text looked very WEAK, like a printer running out of ink...

We tried all ratios, we tried going with a VGA cable and using "PC mode" on the TVs, trust me, if I could see on a TV what I am seeing on this monitor and save $120...I would have!

I kind of look at this as my 3 monitors in one...grin.
