PC Mag review for Omnibook 500 <- specs are a little different though

The review is on the business model and this is the personal. The Omnibook has 802.11b. If this one did too, I'd jump on it, but it doesn't seem to.

If I read the review right, this ultraportable may be a bit heavier than some, but it has the 8xDVD on the notebook part, right? That would be cool.
The CD-RW must be in the base.

Specs say it's a passive matrix display - though in the heading it says XGA TFT. So which is it?

I have an Omnibook 500 which is the pevious version of this, exact same chasis.

If I read the review right, this ultraportable may be a bit heavier than some, but it has the 8xDVD on the notebook part, right? That would be cool.

No CD in the actual unit, DVD/CDRW is either a combo or media bays.

TFT defintely, very high quality in fact.

BTW I've never seen a 24x CDRW in this lappy before dunno if that is correct.
I love my Omnibook I am VERY tempted to get this my 500Mhz celeron version is just not powerful enough.

PC Mall has drive's specs reversed; it should be 8x4x24.

i used to have one. this isnt really the greatest price in the world, you can get it for less on ebay, with more stuff on it.

Not likely I've been keeping track of ebay closing prices, perhaps you could get this lappy w/o the base station for a bit under that but not with the cdrw and dvd.

well, when i bought mine 6 months ago. igot the 1155 . cost me $1050 new. only difference was it had a floppy instead of a cdrw.


but that was 6 months ago. and i got a $100 rebate so it ended up being $950.. this was when they were being discontinued.
