I'm looking for a glossy LCD with a sharpness adjustment. Focused for the moment on the HP W2007. Downloaded a manual which applies to that model and several others. Manual indicates OSD has a sharpness setting on "(Select models only)". This function, however, seems tied to custom scaling, which, according the manual, if set one-to-one disables sharpness.
So I call HP tech support, get bounced around for ten minutes, end up with a limited vocabulary and experienced voice on the other end who assures me that the W2007 can be adjusted for sharpness.
Off to Circuit City. Found the model, tested it on both a VGA and DVI hookup and the menu WOULD NOT produce a choice for "sharpness." Card in the computer at CC was NVDIA.
QUESTION: IF anyone has a w2007, can you adjust the sharpness. If the answer is yes, what did I do wrong in trying to find that adjustment. I also looked at the 22" and 24" HP W-Screen in same family. None of them had a choice for sharpness.
Made a second call to HP. Pointless.
Monitor could work for me, but I need the sharpness to adjust text. Is there a hack to get that adjustment? Thanks for the help.
