Okay, I unpacked and installed my Epox about a couple days ago! At first
sight this mobo seems like it has it all. I love the board layout, however, it
lacks some features from other top-notch manufacs.

Now when I installed everything, it went smooth. I updated to the latest
8k3a2328.exe BIOS. From there everything went smooth.

Now the only 3 problems that I have are these:

1. I am using an ThermalRight SK-6 w/ 38CFM - 6800RPM fan. I have
the AMD 1800+ CPU installed. Now when I change the muliplier or CPU voltage I get
a black screen and my system won't boot. So what I do is clear the CMOS
on the Epox. This helps retain the systems state and allows me to reboot
and go into the BIOS. What could be happening? Core voltage = 1.79 [Default voltage]
I can't increase the voltage or else my CPU crashes! So I would have to go into the
CMOS and clear it again!

2. Based on my onboard thermal temp, my system is at a blistering 81 degrees C. Man
this seems way to hot! However, when I touch the heatsink it doesn't even seem warm!
What is going on? I also get frequent crashes all the time as well! Alot of freezes!

3. Also at the beginning when my system is booting is takes forever for it to load Win XP.
It does this when it is says "Verifying DMI Pool Data". This is odd, because my Shuttle
AK31A never did this! I mean this is a pain in the butt if you ask me! What could be going
wrong?

Any suggestions, tips, knowledge would be great!

The AMD XP 1800+ have the multipliers locked, so unless you unlocked it yourself or you have the AMD MP 1800+, changing the mulitplier wont allow your system to boot.

I would shut down your pc right now and reseat your HSF. Make sure it has a very thin layer of thermal grease and it making good contact.

sounds like the SK6 clip is causing partial contact between the heatsink and CPU. Unfortunately, this is a fairly common problem, and often results in burnt-chips.

Make sure the "lip" of the SK6 isn't catching the plastic socket-462 "ridge".
