Stumbled across a 'smart' HB feeder with a wide angle WiFi camera and a solar cell to power the camera. Hunnert bux.

Nnnnnope.
Link?

It's been raining cats and dogs here...the Anna's are still out and about. I took the dog out to do his bidness...I was swarmed by 3 of the little buggers because I was standing too close to one of the feeders.

I've got different birds roosting under my awings, front and rear. But only at night. If I step out the door for any reason after dark they scatter. If they'd just sit still, I'd never even see them.

I've seen a few different ones now. Serarch AMZ and you should find them.

I've got an idiot bully Mockingbird defending the feeders, chasing the Cardinals off. Turd will dive bomb them. Doesn't seem to bother the sparrows, wrens, finches, etc.

My 5 feeders are getting close to no attention. Maybe it's the season, more likely the fact that I wasn't changing the nectar as frequently as I should. I changed all of them 4 days ago, there's been barely a nibble. The level of nectar will go up or down depending on the temperature because gases expand when heated.

I saw a HB today finally flying in the back yard chasing a bird 10 times it size, so defending it's territory. I figure any HBs who lost faith in my feeders will be back, will come and check the territory they used to visit... any time now. Spring has been showing major signs here the last week or so.

I have a small tray suction-cupped to my window. Has room for 2 finches. I keep it stocked with sunflower seed. A squirrel pulled the screen off the window frame trying to reach it. I found it on the ground. Must not have been fastened securely.

Saw one today. Two weeks early. No sloup on hand for them. Might not do it this year. Draws more wasps and yellow jackets than Hummers.

For some reason, our hummingbirds have vanished. Only one or two for the past couple of weeks.

One of my hummingbird feeders will last about 2 days now. Of course I bought extras so that I can clean and rotate them easier now.

The regular bird feeder on the other hand needs filled every other day now which is faster than usual.

You're where? Near San Diego? HB's seem to be rare here in Berkeley, CA right now.

40 miles north east of Los Angeles. I know they come and go based on the migration. But then there are not many around it always makes me think I did something wrong and poisoned off a batch of hummingbirds.

So I got my good camera working. Just went out to the feeders and took some pictures. SO interesting when you can see the details of these little guys.

When I took this picture it was to show the head the red one in the back. Normally their heads look black, but when the light hits them they flouresce and turn red or purple. When I looked at the one in the front it looks like a juvenille, he looks like he is growing the red flourescing feathers. Others who know more can tell me I am wrong.

These little SOBs are beautiful, but a PITA. They think they own the feeders and try to chase other birds away. It is funny now to see them because they chase one bird away and three others take it's place.

This is that same little SOB a couple seconds later when the sun caught his feathers and they flouresced. I realize this is the wrong word and I am spelling it wrong, but oh well.

Amazing ! Some of those fluorescent feathers, almost looks like reptile scales.

Yeah, I was wondering if it was me. Probably not, though. I posted on Nextdoor and others said they weren't seeing many. This was maybe 6 weeks ago. Right now, no HBs in my yard AFAIK. I'm still cleaning out the feeders, just putting less nectar in them, only 10oz and hoping.

I knew I had four active nests with eggs. Yesterday, I found a fifth with three hungry beaks chattering for Mom.

This one is down inside the rotted center of an old fence post ... a 12 x 12 that's been in place for 30 years.
I've seen no indication that HBs procreate in my vicinity.

My window feeder's nectar level has been getting lower and lower but have seen nor heard nothing for a month of a HB except one flew by me today when I was hiking in the hills. I looked today for signs of leakage of my window feeder but saw none. Don't know. Maybe bats are eating it.

Mommas, don't let your babies grow up to be snake food.

Guess that's what happened to one of the nests. Three Cardinal eggs that were there, aren't.

Don't really know what kind of critter for sure.
