The issue isn't your drinking, but the choice you made to drink and drive at the same time. What was going through your head whenever you stepped into your car?
That's the trouble with alcohol...it impairs your judgement.
The closest I ever came to drunk driving was after someone I hardly knew managed to make telling jokes at my expense the topic of conversation. Usually I have thick skin, but when you're drunk, well... yeah. Anyway, I had the brilliant idea I'd leave, but it occured to me about halfway from the front door to the car that driving while drunk was a really bad idea. I decided to sleep in the car instead. So I'm at the car door, trying to open it, when I suddenly said to myself, "self, you can't actually remember how to use a key and a door lock right now." I was surprised to discover I was right; I literally was so drunk I couldn't remember how to operate keys. Keys.
I wandered back inside and passed out on the couch. On the guy's hat. Specifically, with my ass on it.
