My wife is a teacher at a fairly elite private prep school. She called me up this morning and told me that she was the recipient of the senior prank this year. What did these immature brats do?

They broke into her classroom (most likely through one of the windows) and filled the room with shrimp, scallops and cheese. They did not simply put these items on the floor and tables; they put them in every drawer in her desk, in her filing cabinets and in her storage cabinets. Lots of papers and work that she reuses from year to year have been ruined because of this in addition to the obvious smell and mess.

What is the school going to do about this? Nothing. I guess they feel that these kids "deserve" to get a free chance at breaking and entering and vandalism simply because they are seniors. Give me a freaking break. I was considering calling the police, but don't want to risk my wife losing her job because of these kids. What they did is a felony, not just some harmless prank. Imagine if you got to work this morning and discovered that someone had broken in through your office window and the office along with all of your paperwork were completely covered in seafood? How would you react? How would your boss react? I am certain that the police would be involved. Nothing is going to happen to these kids and they are going to learn that they can get away with anything.

The fact that they ruined sh!t pisses me off. A prank is supposed to be funny and embarassing, not destructive. Police FTW.

Even if she did it gives no one the right to destroy her property.

sounds like a bio-hazard. if the school refuses to punish she should at least demand the get it professionally cleaned. hit them in the wallet, they may change their stance (school admins).

Jeez buddy remove stick from butt then post. These kids are senior in high school I am sure you went from the womb to a mature member of society in just one step. Kids will be kids and ****** happens. Oh and by the way what other profession does a person get to use the same work year after year after year. Maybe this is a good thing she will acatually have to draw up tests again.

That is a sh!tty thing to do, but why would they do that to your wife? Do the students generally not like her?

Tell her to flunk every class since all the "tests" were ruined and cannot be graded.

She is one of the favorite teachers at the school, which is why she is even more upset than most would be. She thinks that they did it to her because she is known to be a clean freak.

80% of her property is prolly actual school property

Unlikely. Many teachers buy their own stuff for the classroom.

That's a great idea.

Dead sea creatures and cheese, packed with bacteria, rotting over the entire weekend. That isn't a safe enviornment to work or learn in.

edit: my point is the administration's "sucks to be you" attitude is unnacceptable. once the problem becomes theirs i bet they won't take it so lightly.

The problem is that she teaches mostly tenth graders. She had these seniors two years ago.

For those of you that said kids will be kids, they were just having fun...how do you feel if someone put seafood in your bedroom and closets over the weekend? It would ruin your clothes and property for sure and you would not be a happy camper.

Prank is supposed to be fun. I can live with rolling the house with toilet paper and such but rotten seafood is too much.

To the idiot that claimed that this was acceptable because they're "seniors" - if they're that immature, they should still be in 3rd grade (I hate lumping them together because most 3rd graders are more mature than that!). I don't know what could be done, but something should be. Shame on the administration for blowing it off and not doing anything! :|
