Would i be able to manage that...is it recommended? If so, then i could go with new egg if you guys help me pick out all the parts out of there that i need.

I could spend up to 2k if necessary. Just make sure it's easy upkeep and minimum maintenance after it's put together. Remember my knowledge is limited in this.

sure. we can start pricing parts at the least and see which will be more managable. start a thread in comp help with the specs of what you are looking for and state you have never done it before and we can go from there.

I just put together a dream system at DELL, obviously this is probably an overkill, but how much would something like that cost me and would i be able to put that together myself, or is it way to complicated to do?
Maybe something NOT as expensive? But close in specs so i won't have to upgrade for a few years?

Microsoft® Office Home and Student 2007 DVHS [420-6585]

I didn't see an ethernet card in there, just wireless and i don't like wireless...i like broadband! Maybe i'm confused.

I could also settle for the Core 2 Quad 6600 2.4 GHz each, and HDD could be just 500$ I could always get an external one some time later. I'd prefer dual drives, no clue on the sound card, the RAM i could settle for 3GB i think but 4GB would probably be best.

I hope you have insurance 'cause that thing is liable to burst into flames.

I say take the whole PC back and get a refund. Then read a book and build your own. You'd save hundreds and run a much smaller chance of burning down your house. I know this probably doesn't help matters but I'm blown away and couldn't resist commenting.

It's one thing to mark a computer up 75% - 100%, but another to charge so much and produce such poor workmanship. Sorry to keep going on and on, but I'm totally in awe at the unbelieveably shitty job HP did. Alienware might overcharge for their PC's but at least they don't produce crap like that.

Here's what my PC looks like inside:

this is the case in action. I like his setup

Just make sure you have restore CD DVD so whenever something doesn't work you can always set it back to default.
